Perhaps Macclesfield isn't in Greater Manchester but I imagine some people in Greater Manchester consider Macclesfield their local team. I might be wrong on this but I would guess that the Manchester Evening News covers Macclesfield among its lower division teams.
If the link comes up, it will show you that Mac is about 25 miles from the city centre, Stockport is on the fringes of Greater Manchester, so any further South and you are out of Greater Manchester.
Fair enough that Ste is a negative soul when it comes to his football, but if you go to games, you can hear season ticket holders shouting abuse at United players when they think they deserve it.
I don't agree with much that he says, but I'll listen and take on board what he says, then I'll argue the toss, instead of just slagging him off. Just food for thought.
Thanks for the map, it is better than any I could find on the net. Mind you, if it's not football I wouldn't know where to look. I am surprised that Macclesfield is that far from Manchester. Twenty years ago, when I left England, they were non league so I didn't care where Macc was.
I don't mind negative comments from supporters but Ste has no positives. The last ten years have been our most successful by far. Only Liverpool have had a run anything like it in English football history. Last year we finished third and reached the Euro semis. The way some people talk you'd think we were fighting relegation.
