Hatton v Mayweather

Lloyd Mayweather is the 50 cent of boxing. its all an act though. i'd put me money on mayweather because hes faster than ricky and ricky's had to put on weight for this fight which will slow him down.

should be a crackin fight though.

50 and Mayweahter are actually quite good friends as well

Any relation to Floyd?

I'm telling you all now, if it goes the distance, Mayweather will win by way of dodgy home decision.

on a lighter note, my brother is on his way to vegas for the fight, he just rang me from the bar in new york airport where they flew to for a connecting fight. he just met jason mcateer and paddy mcguinness at the bar, wouldnt give mcateer a second glance cos he's a twat as he already knows from personal experience. Anyway, said he's got a couple of class pics with paddy, who was obviously playing up for the crowd in the bar, i could hear him ding-dang-doing all over the place in the background. Top Bloke!
Hatton on points by the way!

I wish mate, he's in the lion's den, even if he outpoints Mayweather (the cocky twat), Ricky will lose it on decision, way of the world.

hatton has one big fight night due in the uk, possibly wembley or city of manc stadium. is a draw out of the question and a rematch in the uk? Not that im sayin theres anything dodgy goin on or anythin but you never know.

anyway, mayweather has a dodgy hand, one stray punch to the top of hatton head or something and thats him boxing the rest of the fight, no chance of a ko from him with a broken hand!

i honestly think this is made for hatton, really hope he wins it!

Yeah this is really probable if they offer Mayweather a $100 million for the fight, other than that, there is no chance.

You are right about Mayweather favoring one of his hands, but he is not the type of fighter who needs to knock someone out to win. That said, Mayweather is going at his normal weight, where as Hatton is going up, which will slow him down even more compared to the Pretty Boy. Unless Floyd gets a lot of bad luck I dont see him losing this fight

Is there a bigger cnut than Floyd Mayweather?

Hatton's moved up in weight?

Game over. As for the dodgy hand I've heard about, I'm pretty certain I've seen him win on points after breaking his hand on someone's face. Mayweather's speed and movement are crucial.

He's done it properly this time though. The last time he was eating takeaways to bulk up, now he's had 11 weeks to put it on.

Lewis? nah, never could take a punch. He's been knocked out twice, I think. That doesn't happen to great champions. Plus he never fought anyone at the top their game. Christ, Bruno should've beaten him, only a great punch and Bruno's suspect chin got him out of that mess. He came at a time when the division was genuinely mediocre. I wish he fought Holyfield or even Bowe at their peak(yes, I'm aware he beat at him at the Olympics, but pro 11 round is a completely different game). As for Mayweather, I'm not really a fan of the counter attacking style. Probably the reason why Roy Jones used to annoy me so much.

Sonny Liston. Jack Johnson. Joe Frazier. MikeTyson. Joe Louis. George Foreman and Larry Holmes.

All heavyweights who, by your calculations weren't greats as they were knocked out and therefore couldn't take a punch, when one of those big old boys explodes a punch on your jaw mate there's a good chance you're going down, two avenged defeats in Lennox career is up there with the very best.

Also it's not Lennox's fault those guys weren't at their peak as you put it, mind Bowe refused to fight him and also lost to Holyfield despite being two stone heavier so I'm not sure he was ever all that to start with.
Hatton has every chance, the lad is special, this has all the makings of a Benn v McLelland, Curry v Honeygan type upset.

I'll give you Joe Louis, although his second KO came at the age of 37 by Marciano. Liston was knocked out by the greatest of them all, Muhammed Ali, same goes for Foreman. Frazier was knocked out by great boxers during his peak. Tyson well we all know his story. Lennox on the other hand was knocked out by two very mediocre boxers in MacCall and Rahman. I don't think he would've survived in the 70's. I'm not anti-Lennox, I really wanted him to be great, but I was disappointed by him. I still can't believe Bruno made him look stupid. Oh and I don't really believe he avenged McCall. McCall had a mental breakdown. . .and Lewis was still not able to put him away.

As for this fight, I think he's got a chance, I think Honeyghan and Benn were bigger outsiders. Honeyghan was a strange one, looked a decent boxer when around the period he won the belt, but the complete opposite a couple of years later.

Love to see Hatton win this, but its not very likely. If Mayweather could have hand-picked a style of boxer to take on, Hatton would be it. Ricky will need to catch him with a real sweet punch early on, and rattle him. He'll have to fight smarter than ever before too. If he tries to pressure Mayweather, he'll get picked off time and time again, and his face will open up.

Can't give Ricky better than a 20% chance of winning this fight.

As for the arrogance of Mayweather, I have no problem with anyone mouthing off if they can back it up.

On the contrary, pressure fighters are what Mayweather has struggled with most. Many think he lost his first fight with Castillo (another pressure fighter). Most boxing experts agree that Hatton (with his style) is the last hope of seeing Mayweather defeated.

I reckon fifteen quid is brilliant, I'm here in Las Vegas and I'll have to pay $50 to see it on telly, the place is full of Brits having a good crack, lots of cockney wankers as well of course...

I don't mind seeing City shirts on the strip but bleedin' Chelsea, have some decorum guys......:).......

fecking hell this is going to be some fight!

For once I disagree with something Hectic says! Mayweather to win!! NO! feck that!

Ricky to cause an upset! Floyde may be the better technical fighter, but if Hatton catches him how we have seen Hatton punch then, I don't care who you are, you go down.

Now come on, "Theres only one..." :P

Spoony, a good mate of mine was a quality amateur and he reckons if a super heavyweight really unloads one on your chin anything can happen no matter how good your chin. McCall was indeed a strange one but Lennox beat him and I'm certain he would have anyway, he took both those two lightly and paid the price. I really liked Lennox as it goes and I think he was top drawer by the time he finished, those fecking yanks HATED not having the big title, it was great.Honeyghan was weird as feck, I've always thought he must have had a drug problem.

Ricky's gonna do this fella, I can feel it in my bones, in his face for 12 rounds NON stop.

I really believe that Hatton will win, Mayweather's got really quick hands but he like to stand off his opponent and pick his shots. Hatton won't give him the chance, he'll be in Mayweather's face all the time and I very much doubt it'll go the distance...

Hatton to win by knockout.................

I liked him when he first came on the scene. The Bruno fight really annoyed me, I thought he would've easily beaten him. . but Bruno as much as a joke as he was, looked the better fighter. . .and would've won with a better chin, something that plagued him throughout his career. Bonecrusher Smith, Tim Witherspoon and a host of others, fights he ought to have won, but lost due to a suspect chin. As for Lewis, the only other thing I didn't like about him, was that he always switched off during fights. And finally, I thought he was a better fighter when he was around 16st. He lost a lot of his mobility when he bulked up. But we'll have to agree to disagree. But I'm not saying he wasn't a good fighter.

Tell you what Murph. Ali Vs Joe Louis each at their prime would make the best fight ever. Both lightening quick and brilliant boxers to boot.

This is gonna be a nightmare to stream with loads of wankers looking to watch it on the internet. Im too stingey to fork out £15 for it.

The fight starts 4am UK time.

I hope Hatton batters the shit outta this big headed feck!

They'll be streams for this, dunno how good though. I like Ricky but I'm backing Mayweather for the win.

I met Ricky Hatton once in a bar in Didsbury, nice guy considering who he is and what he's achieved, the only reason he stood out was the 2 huge fecking monsterous bodyguards he had with him

He doesn't need bodyguards!! The man's huge!!

Even though I'm a Kiwi & don't follow boxing that much, I hope Hatton wins this bout. Mayweather is so arrogant, so would love to see him hit the canvas a few times.

I think if it goes the full 12 rounds, Mayweather will win, so Hatton has to knock him out or win by TKO.

The heart says Hatton, but head, Mayweather - go Hatton though!!

I cant wait until Hatton gets Mayweather against the ropes and BAM!!!! fecks him up in the fecking kidney!
