Has there ever been a better window than the summer of 22?

Casemiro – Rolls Royce of a player and perfect role model.

Martinez – feck his 1,75 m. Alongside Varane best CB-pairing since Rio+Vidic.

Eriksen - still a class act! Experience and creativity.

Antony – World class potential.

Malacia – Ideal squad player and the reason behind Shaw’s positive form curve.

Can't remember so many new additions making such impact in such short time. Anyone agree?

Yes incredible!

Beating Liverpool, Arsenal and now, Spurs! Best window ever.

Looks good so far but still early, we know atleast four of the five signings would be integral going forward.
Let's see how much success we'll achieve though, I'm optimistic.

Looks to have been a success so far. One more like it and we'll really be in business.

On a side note, would be very beneficial for us if we can keep Liverpool and Chelsea out of the CL next season. Chelsea in particular have been big rivals of ours in the market, and I don't think Liverpool can spend ridiculous money if they miss out, and they need a lot, so would be a step towards finishing them off. Also, this chatter of Mbappe needs to be put to bed!

They all still have it all to prove but especially Martinez has been impressive. Long may it continue.

Would've been greater if you had offloaded Ronaldo (and Haaland didn't sign for City), but it's certainly a massive improvement over the last few years

In the first hour against Leicester LVG's 2015/14 window seemed incredible.

We'd had a crap start to the season, signed Blind, Di Maria and Falcao last minute. First game after the international break.

3-1 up, We'd signed Hererra, Shaw, also this window - it seemed set for success.

Then we lost 5-3 and you knew it was gonna be a wank season.

That game has a lot to answer for.
After that, Van Gaal seemed to totally change style and we became a tedious, zero risks, zero thrills team.

It's only a good window when we end up winning something

I disagree with this. This could be the window that creates the platform for greater things. Since I became a united fan, this should be the best. I remember the season we got Nani, Tevez, Ando and Hargo.there was excitement but never like this. This season, we signed winners who just walked into the team and changed the way we play. Even if we don't win anything, there is a structure of how we want to play and what we need to improve the squad

It was so bizarre. Di Maria was brilliant to start the year and in that game, and then we all of the sudden completely switch our style and it turned into passing simulator

Famous for a game Clattenburg allowed the most obvious foul from Vardy to go on Rafael, and then wrongly assumed Rafael has smashed him straight after, when it was a clear dive.

An infuriating 10secs of reffing from that clown, and a ref who clearly thought he'd take it out on since Fergie left.

Giving Liverpool a scandalous 3rd pen v us at OT for a Sturridge dive.

I get nervous answering this considering our window where we signed AWB, Maguire and Dan James looked good for the first few months too!

Way, way too early to start this discussion.

Agree. I bet you could find similar posts after a few months in 2019 that Maguire, Wan-Bissaka and James was a good window.

Casemiro and Eriksen are good short term signings but Signing players wrong side of 30 means there will likely be a drop off in performance and hard to shift on so your squad is stuck with them. See Matic, Ronaldo et al.

Martinez is quality. I think Malacia has potential but I worry a bit about Antony, looks a bit one dimensional to be world class

Far too early to say. Also fans are very fickle. Players can go from success to failure in the space of 1 game

I’ve seen a few posts in here slating Malacia who made a very impressive start and then shock horror young player has a couple of tough games ..

07/08
Nani
Anderson
Hargreeves
Rafael
Tevez

maybe, played a huge part in league and champions league victories

Far too early in the season let alone their United careers to pass judgement on that , these things need to be judged on the long term.

Yeah a good shout

Stam Blomqvist and Yorke wasn’t too shabby either

So yeah when you look at these two windows I think OP might be getting a little over excited

I always loved the summer of 96 too. Not all turned out great but a couple of gems

Ole, Johnsen, Poborsky, Cruyff and VDG

I'm a huge fan of each and every one of those players, but you've missed out the most important name.

Bringing in a top class coach has created the environment for these signings to settle in so quickly and effectively.

Looks very promising but still very early to say as we are only two months into the season.

I’ve seen 99 and 08 being mentioned and they’re obvious. I’d argue 2012 and signing Van Persie was better too. To date.

AWB and Maguire were fine when we played with a low block and looked to counter. Prior to last season they were adequate, this view that they were both awful for most of their time here is revisionist history, especially Maguire.

They didn’t start playing football yesterday and they were all cl football regulars and stars in their teams… so let’s not pretend football life starts at United. We got 5 amazing players who all fit certain roles like a glove… and ETH being the best signing of them all.

Was important but thats when the squad needed new blood, he was a great signing but more was needed especially centre midfield

Rvp kagawa and zaha (who went back to palace) doesn’t beat Nani Anderson Tevez rafael hargreeves for me
