The new trailer for the 7th Harry Potter film was released yesterday I think. The trailers so far look good. This movie is releasing on November 19, 2010.

I anticipate this with the same excitement I would have towards the news of a new and impending plague carried by Ebola-infested Rats.

Stupid money making scheme making this a 2 part movie when there was absolutely no need for it

The book was dull, all that wanking about in the woods!

Oh great, another 3D film. Pass me my jizz rag, hoorah blah blah. It's getting tiresome but I suppose it was to be expected after Avatard. James Cameron has a lot to answer for.

I don't think we can let that jizz rag comment go unnoticed bill.

Can't wait, I think I've read Book 7 about 10 times

I guess they want to include every single detail and hopefully they will. I m not complaining. I love the whole series.

There were other books bigger than the 7th so there is no real reason beyond making more money really for extending the series.

Did anyone at all like the 5th and 6th books? They were setting up the final books but they were fairly average imo

Good man.

The chapter with Snape's memories is epic, bet of the whole series I reckon

I know I was impressed with Snape actually. After all the vile things I thought about him after the sixth book, he definitely made up for it in the seventh book.

I liked them. They were full of action. So it wasn't bad at all. I think Rowling did an awesome job of actually setting up the storyline in the earlier books.

I was unjustly coerced into reading the Harry Potturd books. I have never seen any of the film adaptations, though.

Do the books translate well onto the big (or little) screen?

No other book was bigger than the 7th. Maybe better but not bigger. I m not complaining because I get to see Emma Watson another time. ;)

The films are great escapist popcorn and if I have to take kids to the cinema I'd rather it be to see Avatar, Harry Potter and Toy Story rather than those fecking chipmonks or Marmaduke, which is meant to be truly painful for adults, and the like.

I'd rather see a Godfather 2 or A Prophet or 3 Colours Blue but you can enjoy other films just for what they are.

Well not really because it is almost impossible to include every single detail. But to be fair to them, they only have two and a half hours to convert a 400 to 500 page book into a movie. So to me they have done pretty well.

Mark Kermode, is that you?

I don't take much interest in him. Does he share my views?

I'm just getting a bit tired of all the films being 3D at the moment. Is the new Twilight film in 3D? 3D sparkly vampires might just end the world!

Books = good

Films = Shite (apart from Prisoner of Azkaban, the only movie that resembled how the books look in my head)

He does a podcast every saturday/friday on the BBC radio 5 site which is worth listening to, if anything he hates 3D 100 times more than you.

Actually you're wrong I'm afraid, Order of the Pheonix was the longest book - 870 pages. Whereas The Deathly Hallows was only 607!

:)

Mark Kermode is the biggest prick out there.

He's so predictable and pretentious I don't know wether to laugh or cry.

If the fans and other critics love it you can garentuee he will hate it and call it one of the most over rated films ever.

If you've never heard of it and generally people hate it..... he'll call it a masterpeice and imply that you are stupid and uneducated for not "getting" it.

Cock.

Well I did not mean 'bigger' in that way - not length wise but expectation and story wise, 7th is the biggest. And the Deathly Hallows has actually 759 pages.

He's entertaining even if I rarely agree with him about mainstream films, as i've indicated by calling a previous poster him for having a go at 3D films.

The 6th movie trailer was good and the movie was pretty much SHITE. I hope this does not happen again.

I enjoyed Avatar, despite it being an average film due to the spectacle of 3D.
The problem is that every other major film is now coming out in 3D and it's getting a bit tedious.

If that makes me a pretentious cock like Kermode then so be it.

It was said in jest so no you're not a pretentious cock, but I don't considered Mark Kermode to be one either.

But you've already admitted that you enjoyed Avatar's 3D... would you have got really annoyed that so many films starting coming out in colour?

Not quite my point. Black and white to colour was an obvious progression. 3D is more of a gimmick that has been tried and failed before. I know they have improved it and it is quite enjoyable at times, but it doesn't really bring much more than a novelty factor.
Avatar was made more watchable because of the novelty. Once the novelty factor has worn off, you're left with an average film. Now we will get a slew of average films which incorporate a 3D element to get bums on seats to make money.
I think the gaming industry is where the 3D stuff belongs.

I disagree, 3D if implemented like it was in Avatar can easily be of simmilar importance as B&W to colour was.
