I been banging the Maguire drum since his Hull days, I believe he will have just as big an impact as Virgil and be a real fan favourite and captain by December, don't let me down slab head!
Slabtime better catch on this season. You need to get that trademarked quick. I can feel a chant to the the MC Hammer classic brewing.Chelsea have been shite at corners in pre-season. Slabtime.
See, it’s not only me
I see you've been influencing other cafe members
Fancy him to score a header on Sunday. Chelsea aren’t a huge side.
And we’re not a good crossing side.
They’ll have zouma and giroud mark him I assume.Fancy him to score a header on Sunday. Chelsea aren’t a huge side.

So Ole is saying Maguire was his number 1 transfer target and made that choice after we played Leicester in Feb 2019
“I'm delighted that we got Harry in,” Ole told reporters. “He's going to be great for this club. He was my number one target, and of course it took some time, but it does sometimes take time.
”I, more or less, made my mind up when we played Leicester last season that if it's possible to get him we should try, because he's so composed on the ball and he gives the team another dimension.”
“He's already come in and shown the presence that he will be and what impact he'll have in the squad,” said the boss.
“He's a leader, an established international, a goal threat, a very, very good defender.”
“It is important to have a foundation to build from and to play from, and the spine of the team is always key. If we can get a settled back four with David in behind them, I'm sure we'll create enough chances to score goals.
”They're not just defenders these boys. They've all got attacking attributes, as well as being good defenders.“
This is the match he talked about against Leicester :
United won 1-0, kept a clean sheet even with the calamity partnership of Bailly and Lindelof together and statistically Maguire was the 4th best CB on the pitch. He made 0 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 clearances and 1 aerial. The one stat in his favour from that match is that he made 59 passes to Lindelof's 49. Although a bit surprisingly Bailly made 1 dribble and Maguire made 0.
Its going to be interesting seeing how our defense does this season as we added a stats monster in Wan-Bissaka and yet our big "marquee" signing is a CB who the stats suggest doesn't improve us defensively. Even the match that convinced us to sign him he didnt do much.
Will Wan-Bissaka's stat mastery cover Maguire, or will Maguire improve a lot on his own? Or will he have the same stats for United that he had for Leicester, but we are rock solid at the back regardless because "stats dont matter". We'll find out shortly.
My bet is on Maguire helping us on the ball, bringing the ball out of defense and becoming a passing option coming into midfield which should help the midfield. But defensively I think we'll still be looking for a new CB come next summer, this time as Maguire's partner longterm
