Harry Kane | "I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success."

Scoring double figures despite being injured and not playing as much as we’d like, a great leader and has experience to share with Greenwood/Rashford & signing a top quality striker (though I do remain cautious of his injury record) - I’d say it’s a shrewd piece of business and nothing to turn your nose up at

We have no need for two top out and out strikers. We can’t have DDG and Cavani sitting on the bench earning £700k a week. It’s would be madness and certainly not shrewd.

Find me a team that has two world class strikers in their squad (proper CF, not the type that can play out wide).

PSG would be a good move for him. Soon to be 30. Get a fat paycheck, only play when fit, win some trophies in a less competetive league and reunite with Poch. They have the money and are probably looking for a Icardi/Kean replacement.
He’s 27 for Christ sake. That’s literally when most strikers hit their peak. If you look around almost all the best/prolific strikers today are 32+ years old. Why do people make it seem like 30 is retirement age for footballers??

Kane has a good 5 30+ goals/season seasons left in him. He’s exactly the type of player our team needs. People usually tend to overrate English players but I always felt like Kane is underrated for the same exact reason.

We already have those.
Well we’ve got Rashford who could do it, but nobody on the right. I just think Kane would slow us down too much, we already look fairly toothless if forced to play in front of a stacked defence - the last thing we need is to lose that threat in behind.

It's weird isnt it?

I dont know if you watch England's national team;

But when you see Rashford, Sancho, Sterling, Greenwood, Grealish, Foden, Saka etc being played around Kane or with potential to be picked - I'm never that impressed with what Kane does to the team.

It feels like Kane plays with a slightly different generation of football to these other younger players and ends up playing a slightly different tactic than what may get the best out of these type of players or youngsters together.

Everyone can have their opinion, that's what makes football so great but this is probably the worst take I have seen on here in some time. Well Fed by midfield? He's been banging in goals with a midfield behind him of Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko.
You are conveniently forgetting Ndombele, there? It's like omitting Bruno in our line-up and claiming that Cavani is banging goals in on the serves from Fred. Come on , now.

Anyway, why do you not watch last 10 goals in EPL scored by Kane and then watch last 10 goals by Cavani, compare who served them, how they were scored and maybe we can have a bit more facts-based conversation then. This blind obsession by Kane among EPL fans is beyond amusing

I agree. I think that's his only realistic way out of Spurs if Man. City aren't interested. Needs them to lose Mbappe as then they'll have 100m to burn but would suit him, family could stay in London and he can commute on eurostar back to london when they have days off.

I think your objectivity is slightly in question when you refer to them as “quintessential creative Latin-American style striker” and “very boring British striker”.

Hard to think that a striker who's scored at least 20+ goals a season over the last 7 years since he broke out would be considered underrated but it feels like he's just that on the cafe :lol:

No clue on the fee but he's the type of player that would absolutely put us over the top in terms of genuinely contending for top honors I feel like. Drop him into this current squad and I truly believe he'd have the impact of a RVN and RVP on our fortunes.

He’s injuryprone like a 30 year old already ffs. Do you really think he’ll be less injuryprone in two seasons when he’s 30? Think again then.

He is a quality proven striker. Simple as.

What he is doing for Spurs shows how good he is, scored goals no matter the style of football, no matter the manager.

If you look at the games we struggled in or dropped points this season, a proper 9 like Kane would have got us more goals.

Do tell me what's blind about it :lol:? Goals per game he has the best ratio (along with Henry) in PL History.

Yeah I see Kane as a luxury signing for clubs with endless amount of cash. When fit and in form - probably the top three 9’s in the world. But that spell is usually 15 games a season due to injuries. How many clubs will sanction that kind of deal? PSG and City.

It’s like buying a Ferrari But you can only drive it on Sundays. A move abroad looks most likely just like Bale.

Cavani's clever movements in and around the box, brilliant positioning and hunger for poaching, creating goals out of boring situations is something that is completely foreign to Kane. Kane mostly runs into the box, while Cavani circles the box like a predator preparing to go for a kill. How can you even compare the two?

Cavani is a quintessential creative Latin-American style striker. Harry Kane is highly skilled, very boring British striker that needs to be well-fed by midfield to score predictable goals.

Also Cavani is undoubtedly world class. Harry Kane is cherished in EPL but nobody outside English football rates him as anything special. Good, sure - world class? feck no
Are we talking about the same Harry Kane, who scored a ton of goals under a manager as prosaic as Mourinho, in a team known to lack creativity from midfield, just this season?

You could at least YouTube the guy to see if your opinion checks out before posting. He scored 2 goals against Everton about 3 weeks ago that were pure penalty box opportunism. Seriously, you need to do better than this.

What horse shit are you talking are you taking?

:lol:

His injury proneness gets overstated like crazy on here, he hasn't played less than 34 matches since he's been a starter and hasn't scored less than 24 goals (during that 34 game season) which would be our best goal return from a Unuted forward since RVP.

It's really not like he's always on the operating table and misses most of the season and even when he does miss time he still puts up outstanding goal returns.

I understand the clamor for someone younger like Haaland but the dismissiveness towards one of the best strikers the league has ever seen is crazy to me :wenger:

Fergie himself would've jumped through hoops to sign him if he were managing during Kane's career

Wow great input to the discussion. You should get a medal.

My point is 100% fair. Kane is the top three 9’s in the world for about 15-20 games a season due to injuries. The other 35 games of the season he gets outshined by Lewa, Haaland and Mbappé.

Nobody's forgetting Ndombele, Spurs' creative maestro with a whopping 4 assists all season in all comps.

So its 20 games now? How can debate a point which is clearly wrong? You are telling me a player who is only fit for 15, sorry now its 20, games a season puts in the numbers he does, seriously?

Your definition of a luxury player is a guy who at the end of his career will most likely be England's and the PL's all time top goal scorer?

He gets injuries mostly because he is over used, or he does something stupid because he works so hard. To say he is fit for 15 games a season :lol: :wenger:, nonsense.

Funny enough for all this injury talk, Haaland has actually missed more games to injury this season than Kane. Almost double the amount at that

Injuryprone, reached his peak (which is great tbf), will only decline from here, will cost a fortune, probably 400k/week. I just hopes that my club dosent sign him. He’s a luxury player for clubs with endless amount of cash.

He’s great when fit, I dont say anything else.
Hope we look elsewhere and don’t get rinsed by Levy.

I have not seen someone who is so misinformed.

In the PL.

15/16 - 38 games 25 goals
16/17 - 30 games 29 goals
17/18 - 37 games 30 goals
18/19 - 28 goals 17 goals
19/20 - 29 games 18 goals
20/21 - 31 games 21 goals

That is very luxury for 15 games right? Can you show me one player that plays 15 PL games and gets you an average of 25 goals a season?

Maguire (United player with the most appearances in our squad) has featured in 33 PL games this season. The aging, injury prone Harry Kane on the other hand, has played 31 games for Spurs so far. We should steer clear!!

How has he reached his peak? I think you need to look up the definition of a "luxury player", your definition for one is a guy who at the end of his career will most likely be England's and the PL's all time top goal scorer? Crazy.

I didn’t say he plays 15 games a season. I said he’s one of the top three 9’s in the world for about 15 games a season. Which is 100% fair.

the other 35 games a season he is not top three 9’s in the world because he’s outshined by the likes of Lewa, Mbappé and Haaland.

I'm of the opinion he has yet to peak yet as a player to be honest.

He might've had his scoring peak when he scored more goals than anyone else in the world during the calender year in 2017 but his all around game has never been better this season and it reflects in his playmaking/assist stats.

He'll most likely top both the scoring and assist charts in the league this season ala prime Henry

He is a better player now, than he was 2 seasons ago, that's for sure.

All of whom play in a lower standard of league for a higher profile team in that league.

Those 3 play in easier leagues than the PL. That cannot be conviniently brushed aside

I agree. But my point still stands. I would much rather buy Haaland or Mbappé for £100m than Kane for £100m for obvious reasons that I mentioned earlier.

Ndombele = Bruno?

Stop it, my sides!

But sure, let's break down Kane's last ten PL goals. We can start here, two clinical finishes at Everton;

Then a great finish at Newcastle on the angle;

Harry Kane has played 119 games over the last three seasons and scored 79 goals. Anyone that could afford the fee would buy him.

I do read your posts. I didn't realise being 27 means you are almost 30. You also do realise Lewan is 32 and still scoring goals so why can't Kane do the same? I mean he has 5 years on him.

How do you classify outshine? They all play in a lower standard league, so you expect them to get more goals. Haaland has 1 season in the Bundesliga whilst Kane has been producing these numbers for 7 years straight.
