I’m one of the guilty parties who thought his first season would be a one off but he’s world class and would fit us perfectly but just feels like he’s already spoke to city or told them he’ll leave. City need a striker and Kane is the kind of player they can break records for and get away with it without worrying about re-sale value. Could maybe see PSG as an option if Mbappe is leaving, be pretty much guaranteed Champions League football as well as trophies plus working with Poch again, also probably just as quick getting to and from London as Manchester.

I think he'll end up at City and I find it quite sad how unbothered I am. It's obviously shit, but City are just operating on a different level to the rest. They're already far ahead. Very defeatist attitude, but it is what it is. We just need to keep improving ourselves, I just don't think Kane will be part of it for us.

I think Kane is one of the top five best rounded centre forwards in the game but he won’t go for less than £100 million, I fancy City to go all out for him if he leaves Spurs as he’s able to drop deep and bring others into play like a 10 or false 9 as well.

Covid works both ways. If there is a £120 million bid in for him, are the famously tight arse Spurs going to turn that down whent they've lost hundreds of millions on the gate and match day sales the last 13 months? I imagine they're more likely to sell him now more than ever if a bid comes in. This is the last chance for them to make maximum bank on him.
If he's leaving Spurs specifically to win trophies then presumably City are the obvious destination for him given they're the team most guaranteed to win trophies over his remaining peak years? Whereas someone Haaland's age knows that even if their next club isn't winning as much as he'd like he still has time for a big money transfer to another top side.

Kane is amazing player. This season he even shows that he is a complete packet of striker. Can create, can assists and can score goals. Not many striker can produce both assists and goals almost in equal big numbers. However, I think Man City will get him, he’s more suitable for Pep’s system than Haaland. Haaland is a pure striker, Kane can do the false 9 job and also pure striker job.
Straight choice between Kane or Haaland, then we're going for Haaland, but the fact we seem to trying to charm Cavani into staying makes you think it's very unlikely.

Why is this? I thought, for us, our ticket sales are a relatively small part of our revenue. TV money presumably remains the same, as do our commercial sales and I can’t see why merchandising would fall off significantly. I haven’t looked into it but I’d be interested if anyone can explain. Am I just massively understating the importance of match day revenue?

I‘d say Modric about 10 years ago, but I think Chelsea were the ones who publicly seemed to make the move when AVB just joined them and he stayed. It was probably that time when TV money had really stepped up and the likes of Spurs back then no longer needed to sell their best players and could name a higher price.
So the whole structure is different now, who knows how Levy feels about dealing with us. If we paid the money, I'm sure he'd sell to us. We won't be paying the money though.

If hypothetically Martial were to be moved on either as part of a deal for Kane or Haaland or sold in general then we’d be left with only Greenwood as back up so again hypothetically if we signed Kane then having Cavani as a third option if Kane or Greenwood were injured makes sense and on a one year deal.
