Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Don’t be so silly. We aren’t paying £72m for a player to be a sub for 4 years. Some of you are bonkers.
He might not necessarily be a designated sub, but his minutes should be shared with a more experienced striker for the first year or two in an ideal world. Isak was rotated with Wilson at Newcastle last season having spent big money on him, Darwin Nunez wasn't a guaranteed starter at Liverpool either.

Kane and Hojlund would be great for us because you need more than one avenue of goals if you want to compete for the biggest prizes. As Kane starts to tail off, Hojlund would naturally pick up more and more minutes in his place. That's succession planning.

I am shocked we haven't had Merson or Neville come on SSN and say if I was Murtough I would be on the phone to Spurs.

Christ I can just imagine what Talkshite drive will be like later with Bent constantly saying to Goldstein why don't Utd match bid

Yes it is but planning we haven't the finances to do

Wasn't his Wife in Munich a few weeks ago looking at areas to live?
Papers said as much, but there were no photos backing up their claims.

You'd think if she was there house hunting with family, and someone recognises the implication, surely they would quickly snap a photo as proof?

Either way, I feel he’ll stay, which would make Bayern look silly.

So why don’t we speak to kanes brother and tell him to stay and we’ll come in with a very good bid in January. If they don’t sell in January we go back in may when the season is over and get him on a free transfer. Levy can try feck us over but kane is literally free to do whatever he wants in less than a years time. His cards are dwindling
Because he’s fecked if he suffers a bad injury.

If he goes to Bayern and breaks Lewa's single-season scoring record, wouldn't that be worth more than Shearer's record which shouldn't really be considered a record?

Shame he didn't want to play (or didn't push hard to play) for the most iconic club in his own country. What a signing he would have been for United. Shame.

Jesus some of you in this thread really don't have a fecking clue. And watch all of ye moan when the season starts and we go a game without scoring that we didn't sign him even though it's obvious to anyone with a lick of sense that we simply can't afford him.

Spurs are finished without him. It will be a joy to see it. As will be our game against them just after the fallout.

I'm also glad we gave this super premium mess a wide berth. Good decision.

No chance we'll get him. We'd have to bid something like 130m at least to convince Levy to sell to a PL rival and I doubt we have that. Ship's sailed.
Matching Bayern price would do the trick. We should have waited with Hojlund but what is done is done.

It's a problem for the league really. We need Tottenham to take points off our rivals, not for the distance between the top and the rest get wider.

I’ve looked it’s BS.

@roonster09

As Harry Kane’s advisor you cannot contact me to say you have approved a bid from Bayern for X amount and then you get contact from Manchester United saying they will match the bid for LEVY to turn round and reject it.

What happens then is Kane’s representatives say he prefers to stay in England and play for Manchester United. Levy cannot just say no. We did the same thing with Beckham and Barcelona.

The only thing that can alternatively happen is for Levy to agree to negotiate with us but even then we aren’t going to pay over the odds.

It's not BS. The scenario you are describing assumes:

A. strong preference for Kane to be at United ( is it really there?),

B. some kind of need for Spurs to be non-discriminatory in accepting bids from different clubs (there is no such requirement either legal or moral. In fact plenty of examples in the past of clubs being unwilling to sell to rivals)

C. Even if Kane was adamant at remaining in England, the ONLY OPTION for Levy is to fold! On the contrary he could also take an equally adamant position depending on his motivation levels to not strenthen a rival. In this case it becomes a game of poker and who knows who wins this.

Very now bid has been accepted

thats the interesting bit, to see if when the chips are down if he will really wants to make the move. I wonder is Levy gambling in accepting the bid early (for him) to call Kanes bluff and avoid any last minute gazump effort from Utd. By all accounts he is very much a steak and chips guy and could still stay at Spurs.

Meh still disagree. Being the all-time PL top scorer separates you more than being a Bundesliga and UCL winner. Which isn't even a guarantee.

Merson has been saying all week he can’t believe we haven’t been in for him which is annoying as for once he’s right. Him saying this though was as predictable as the last statement he came out with…or any statement.

Levy won't accept the same price from a rival. The only thing that *might* change that is if Kane rejects Bayern but wants United then they face the proposition of accepting 100m from us or losing for free.

La Liga and Serie A - by virtue of the fact that we can't carve the name of the winner into the trophy before the season even kicks off.

We'll agree to disagree but I can see your reasoning there, thanks. Serie A is more competitive on the whole but no one there could afford him.

No difference in the premiership and the bundesliga in that regard.

Bayern are a huge step up for Kane and on the plus side they are extremely well run from top to bottom have a fantastic manager and fanbase.

He will be a lucky boy joining them

Nah it would just magnify the fact he never won anything. He could go to Bayern, win a couple of German titles and maybe a CL, come back and still break the PL record (although admittedly he's no spring chicken).

It's all about the medals though.

Nah, the league is competitive enough to not need Spursy taking points. We will be fine without them. But the fall will be immensely entertaining, and I hope we are the first to strike a blow. I'm eager to see it. Unless they end up getting bought by Qatar, of course.
