Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

If we don’t match the bid, and use the similar amounts of £ on Amrabat & Pavard we are beyond stupid.
Huh? Amrabat and pavard would cost probably like 60-70m combined after add ons, at a lower combined wage than Kane would. And would address 2 significant depth issues, with both being 26/27. It's sticking with the plan for once and not getting distracted by a big name 30 year old short term option and ignoring problem areas.

I guess if we dont put in a bid, which is highly likely considering we have other priorities, have FFP issues and the fact we're dealing with Levy, Neville will have his negative narrative set-up for United this season, more so if we don't hit the ground running.

Honestly, when it comes to transfer speculation Neville, more often than not, comes out with some absolute sh*te-bollock theories.

Does Kane really want that dumb scoring record of Shearer’s? Because I’d take a shot at winning stuff rather than going after some record every day of the week. At least Bayern have a shot at winning the CL most years, regardless of whether they sleepwalk into German domestic honours.

With Kane upfront we'd have just as good a chance of winning the CL as Bayern would

Going to be very controversial with this but:
Onana
Pavard* Varane Martinez Shaw
Casemiro
Mount Bruno
Antony Kane Rashford

That could win the league no?

I’d say that could definitely win the league and would have a decent chance in the CL too. Kane would be a transformational signing.

Kane is 100m euros. £86m pound.

Then Levy will just say for PL clubs the price is different and it's not something unexpected either. Spurs and ManUtd rivals, ofcourse it takes bigger bid.

He cannot do that. Think about reality not what you want to believe.

He has told Harry Kane he has a price he can go for. If another club bids that price he has a due care to accept that bid.

If he doesn’t then Harry Kane can happily stay at Spurs and leave for free without giving up any bonus/loyalty payments.

Not singing Amrabat & Pavard/Todibo to replace the outgoing players and instead buying Harry Kane would be the stupid thing to do...

We'll see when we yet again spend the season struggling to score goals.

It doesn't matter if they are partners or if Joe Lewis is a superior. Point is Lewis can put significant pressure in his capacity to have a resolution that doesn't include him ticking down and leaving for free.

He can ask, that's about all the pressure he can apply in real terms.

Like I said earlier the only way Utd could find the money is stick to the plan for this year's budget but totally rip up plan for 2024's

£95m on a 30 year old who has a year left on his deal.
I trust this club not to do it.

So you're selling Maguire, McTominay, VDB & Fred with no replacements in their positions? That'll go well :wenger:
Maguire>>> Pavard*
Mctominay>>> Hannibal
Fred>>> Kobie Mainoo
VDB>>> Amad

Not ideal but I would go for it if that’s what it takes to get Kane :)

Levy would feck Utd over if we tried

So why don’t we speak to kanes brother and tell him to stay and we’ll come in with a very good bid in January. If they don’t sell in January we go back in may when the season is over and get him on a free transfer. Levy can try feck us over but kane is literally free to do whatever he wants in less than a years time. His cards are dwindling

This.

It's not a grocery shopping where the price is same for everyone, if we are talking about neutral clubs like say Bayern made a bid to sign from Porto, Benfica or some other non pl-club and we match the bid, it will be accepted. It doesn't work for rival clubs and as much as people want to laugh about it, Spurs are top 4 rivals.

Would love to think the Utd hierarchy will call emergency meeting to discuss finding ways to match it but that's definitely not happening

Can't wait to get knocked out by Bayern in the CL this year after Kane scores his customary penalty against us

It would just be the icing on the cake for this farce of a transfer saga if Kane refused to go and stayed at Spurs instead.

As a club we aren't ready to win the league. It takes time to implement the system. Time on the training pitch. Time to bed players in. Time for the manager to adapt to iron out issues. We have a better shot at winning the CL than the league. City with their squad, resources and Pep who is up there with the very best managers of all time have such a hold on this league that while yes, we can win it (now or if Kane comes), it's highly unrealistic this season anyway to jump 20 points. And 20 points likely won't even be enough. We outperformed our xPts by about 10 anyway, and making the jump from a top 4 team to a title challengers to actually winning it are all massive jumps. It's a year too soon to think about the title.

And in terms of system, Kane in and we are overly reliant on Rashford for any pace in behind still. He's not quite a perfect fit. And he drops back more and more, would that mesh with Bruno? He doesn't hold the line up front like what we want from our #9, he doesn't offer any threat in behind. That's not to say he isn't world class, but just that it isn't a perfect fit and his age and injury history are obvious causes for concern where a decline might not be far away, in addition to the age profile just being a bit too old where he might start declining by the time we're actually ready to properly challenge. At a price yeah, do it. At 100m, in our state, would be idiotic.
I’d say that could definitely win the league and would have a decent chance in the CL too. Kane would be a transformational signing.
So would waiting a year and saving £100m be worth the chance to win a PL next season?

Is it a football manager thing or a Fifa thing or something?

Why do people seem to think if we lodge a similar bid Levy has to accept it?

We all know if he's demanding 100m from Bayern he'll want about 120m from us
It's quite bizarre.
Kane is 100m euros. £86m pound.
That's the price for Bayern. It won't be the same for us. If it was, he'd already have been here weeks ago.

I said this month or so ago. Wait for Levy to accept them throw our bid in on the off chance Kane chooses us.

Kane and his brother are not smart enough to play that game.

United are not spending £100m + £500k a week on Kane when we have just signed a £64m striker.

Manchester United and Spurs are not rivals. This isn’t a Luis Figo saga.

Spurs cannot just reject our bid and refuse to sell. In reason they can but they won’t.

Excess of 86m pound, mid 90s is what it looked like. For Bayern. Toss another £20m as the price it would take for Premier league clubs. And 400k per week+ for wages, when amrabat would likely not even hit 100k and Pavard probably something like 150k. 400k per week for 5 years of Kane is 104mil, on top of a 120m fee (plus who knows in agent fees). 224mil for 5 years of Kane ages 30-35.

£60m for Pavard and Amrabat at a combined 250k per week is 65mil for 5 years of them aged 27 to 32. Combined 125mil. That's a 100mil difference and we are addressing 2 positions that we would otherwise have problems in, and simply letting our brand new 20 year old CF progress properly. Guy could be hitting Kane numbers in 2 years anyway. It's just the smarter choice to stick with the plan.

Academic because we won't make one much as I would have liked to tried it
