Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Spurs rejected £86m for him? Considering that he’s got one year left on his contract that’s pretty ballsy.
I’ve not been keeping up with this saga so; Does he want to leave?
Have Spurs said they’re not going to renew/extend his contract?

50 million would be easily worth it to secure Kane's signature. It's 120 million that's a big ask for an aging player. That's where it doesn't make as much sense.

Why would that happen though? It's a weird concept. Daniel Levy should either cash in for the full whack or he should hang on. Why would you sell mid season for some paltry fee and neither achieve a big season's worth of performance nor a big fee? That's make believe, pure fantasy.

Besides once Harry Kane is able to negotiate and leverage his free transfer into economics that work for him then why would he want to do that? He's got a big, massive signing on fee coming.

Yeah I can't see a mid season signing being an option either, feels very much it's £100m plus addons now or hope he doesn't sign deal and join the queue next summer

According to sky news and kicker, and contrary to other sources, there was no contact between Bayern and Spurs on Monday. The news about the denied latest offer apparently was leaked from within Spurs and is seen as part of Lewi's negotiation games. Bayern is reported to be willing to continue negotiations and even to improve their offer.

So glad we saw this sort of saga coming and decided to drop it early and go after a different striker.

It feels like Bayern have gone into negotiations with Spurs not knowing what Levy is like. Maybe they're too used to dealing with other German teams who accept their place as subordinate to Bayern but they've not handled it very well. Setting deadlines and all that.

Levy is a nightmare to deal with , and when it comes to Kane he was always going to be ten times worse than he normally is.

Wouldn't it be funny if Kane stays sees out the last year of his contract at Spuds and then came to us on a free

Right now my guess with nothing behind it? Kane signs a new contract at spurs, takes a big signing on fee, because makes more sense for that transfer money to go to him, and 400k per week.

Yep complete nitwits. Used to local shopping, most likely trade economy, in those Bavarian backwoods. Never so much as ordered from AliExpress let alone negotiated an international transfer deal, this Hoeneß fella. Must be new to the game.
Dude you even know what you're talking about? Or is this this famous English humour us folks don't get?

Edit: well maybe he thought all English managers were as gullible as those suckers who bought Hargreaves and Schweinsteiger when everyone knew they were finished. That I don't know.

Doesn't really take a genius to predict this. If City couldn't get him off Spurs no one else can regardless of how long he's got left on the contract.

Bayern are just idiots. In fact, they could just as well have gone after Mbappe. At least he's publicly expressed his intention to leave PSG. Kane on the other hand seems spineless to make his intentions public or maybe he's just too nice, and Levy's taking advantage of it.

I guess from a spurs perspective, even reinvesting the whole fee, they won't get anyone near as good to replace him and in today's market. So it also comes with more risk of not getting into the CL.

Bayern will get him but the power is still with a levy. Bayern need a top striker there’s very few around. They’ll pay the 100m just watch. The fact they’ve gone public just ups Levy’s power to get what he wants.

Arguably, Kane is doing the smart thing by doing nothing and will have a nice few options for himself next summer if Bayern's next bid is refused. Any grief from the fans will be directed squarely at Levy, who has failed spectacularly to manage his departure and replacement with any sort of competence.

Clubs in Germany clearly roll over for Bayern, in relative terms. Bayern do most of their shopping from compliant clubs. Relatedly, it's easier to get good prices when 2/3s of the up and coming top players in a league insist not only that they want to leave but that they'll only go to one club in the world. Bayern are still sharp operators, but not sure when the last time they had to deal with someone as obstinate as Levy and the ensuing transfer complications.

An English manager didn't buy Hargreaves or Scheweinsteiger anyway.

Everyone buys duds though , you spent loads on Mane last season and how did that go?

@Baxquux has nailed it.

Bayern have played this whole saga terribly. It's been a bit nice to see another big club flop around in the market for a change, especially one that is usually lauded for being very well run as an operation.

You just know if Woody was still here we would have been balls deep in this. I am really glad its someone else involved in this sort of nonsense saga for once.

Their main tactics seem to ammount to offer huge wages and have player put pressure on the mother club to make a lower price deal happen and or free transfers after agreements. Guessing the Kane heart isnt into the Bayern transfer enough to get it across the line.

If we bid above 100 mill for a 30 year old brit who can barely speak English with 1 year left on his contract I don't even know what we're doing anymore. Spend more money and get Osimhen instead who is 24.

Maybe Kane is just happy with his current situation? Good life, family nearby, settled living, amazing salary, fans that worship him and so on.

Maybe he just doesn't have the need to move and I say fair play to him. Avoid the drama this year, have his pick in January.

 It's not as if he's a World class striker or anything...

What? It's not wrong :P Listening to him speak is what I imagine mumble rappers will sound like in 60 years in their retirement homes.

World class atm yes, but he is 30, and I do not think he has the longevity of Lewa.

Pretty irrelevant really given that he's arguably the best striker in the world.

Would love it if Bayern gets shafted. So much egg already on their faces with the fake deadlines. Two arrogant clubs fecking each other, you love to see it.

The thing Kane has over Haaland and Lewandowski is a soon ending contract. At least in theory, until he signs a new one in a few days.

An interesting experiment would be to put Haaland in Spurs squad and Kane in City's for a season and then relook at that question.

Haaland put up the more or less the same numbers in Salzburg and BVB. Putting him in an inferior team doesn't seem to matter. Kane in city would score plenty, as would most strikers in that team once anyone else than De Bruyne learns how to deliver a ball into the box instead of passing it back.

Fair enough if he leaves on a free next season, but beyond an outstanding season for Spurs this year it would be extremely disappointing to see him sign a new contract.

I've said it all along. He is 100% going to sign a new deal at Spurs and he'll remain there this season and next. He's not got it in him to make a big move abroad, especially at his stage of his career. He'll get a big contract at Spurs, he'll continue to bang them in every week there, and he'll be happy being loved by the fans who will continue to idolise him as the best player at the club. He's a golden boy. There's a certain amount of bravery needed (maybe even arrogance) to take the plunge for a move like this, and I don't think he has it.
