Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Amazes me some people on the CAF genuinely think Bayern are being played. When people like Law speak you know there is something in this story unfortunately for us and others
Bayern have been a godsend to Tottenham because it means they aren't forced to sell him to a club that they don't want to, they'll have no issues selling to Bayern for less money if it means not selling to a rival for more money

Yeah they certainly are and ends any hope of him being picked up on a free next summer

i counted 60% Goretzka and 40% Mane

Tuchel already told Mane that he is just attacker no. 3 or so on the left. And Goretzka is in a similar position - especially when we get a real no. 6. If the transfer plans function none of them will be anywhere near a starting position and if it really works well Bayern gets money by selling them.

It seems that Tuchel somewhat is "allergic" to Goretzka when you see how he reacts on actions by Goretzka. I do not really think that Laimer matches more to the way that he wants us to play as he is not better on the ball - but Tuchel has to live this year with Laimer as he is newly signed - whereas there is still the chance to get rid of Goretzka and use the money for a better no. 6 with abilities with the ball.

The godsend is Kane seemingly being willing to go there. No surprise Bayern are in for him - I just assumed (probably like most others) that he’d not want to go there.

Us and Liverpool are two of the most left wing clubs in history and proud of it.

I’m noticing so many none United fans on on this thread. If they are United fans they are hiding it damn well.

To the Bayern supporter / supporters. If your club is so big then why are you on a Manchester United forum? I’m genuinely intrigued.

In your words we haven’t won anything for a decade.

Yesterdays news, old club, can’t win anything because other teams luckily cheat to beat us most seasons to league titles but you still care seemingly a lot. Maybe we ruined their childhoods that much who knows…

Put it this way my lifelong memory of Bayern is Kuffour punching the ground after we shattered their dreams so I get the salt.
I am on several english football boards, as are many other Bayern fans. I also sympathize with your club because I think our clubs have a lot in common, from our history to our values. Well, at least until you sell your soul...

And if you are in an argument about which club is the bigger one and your best argument is a single game almost 25 years ago, maybe you should think twice.
We won the CL 3 times since, believe me, we're fine :)

I doubt they are being played but if they were, no journalists would be privy to it

He won’t be a Bayern player. They aren’t going to pay him £500k+ per week.

I kinda don't care anymore if we have to tap into next year's budget to get Harry. We ve been toothless up front for far too long for a club of this stature and though I applaud chasing someone like Hojlund as well, we need some guaranteed impact right away.

To be fair, based on his actions he seems like the kind of guy who wants to stay in England his whole career and probably London if possible.
Cant disagree with that. Though people change. I recall when we were interested in a young david silva at valencia under fergie. I think we dropped our interest as he was a "home boy", who didnt like to travel outside of spain and got homesick easily. Years later he ends up at City. Go figure.

If we cant get Kane, id personally be want us trying to get a stop gap before signing Toney in January rather than hoping Hojlund is the next best striker in the world we can rely on for a decade.

Yeah, I think he's going to surprise people - myself included and go to Bayern. Bloody hell, I remember that, Spain were just churning stars out at that time.

Jesus Navas, not David Silva. Both however ended up at City, the latter without competition from anyone else

We haven‘t exactly had much success would stop gaps lately.

In terms of Kane, depends what the situation is and if he’s determined to leave this summer or not. I think people underestimate just how big of an effect he’d have on us, Just look at how he’s performed, and made others perform, at Tottenham over the years. His ability to score goals, and bring other into play by holding up the ball when we hoof it out, would make us perform at a much higher level,.

The sooner Bayern wrap this up the better. I think there are still one or two attached to this no hoper of a transfer for some unknown reason, even though every conceivable indication has been given that we're not even taking part in the race.

Only if Kane wants to go to Bayern, and if he does then he was never joining us anyway, free or otherwise

Why would he and others not want to go there?

In respect of Kane:

- Goalscoring record;
- Young family;
- Not really previously given an impression of wanting to leave England;
- Step down to German league

For others, no reason why they wouldn’t want to join Bayern. I’d expect a German player to choose them over United, all other things being equal, but not an English one.

We aren’t currently but it’s far better for us for him not to go to Bayern and we get him on a free next year.

Why would you actively want a team we are surely hoping to be competing with in Europe over the next 5 years to sign one of the worlds best strikers?

I can see Spurs agreeing with Bayern in the next 2-3 weeks, and then Kane suddenly refusing to go and so putting massive pressure on Levy to sell to a Premiership club.

This is it for Kane, last big contract, so I don't doubt for all he comes across as not the type, he will be willing to play very dirty to get what he wants.

Yeah, but there’s no benefit to Kane in that approach. He might as well tell Levy now that he will only sign for an English club if that is what he actually wants.

Either we haven’t tried hard enough to persuade him that United are the best club for him or we’ve done our best and he prefers Bayern. Whichever it is, we just have to hope Levy sticks to an unrealistic valuation and he ends up staying at Spurs. I don’t see any way we can now get him this summer.

Not to mention that this type of pissing game (my club is bigger/better/holier than your club no it isn't!!!!1!) has never led to anything.

I come here because one can sometimes find interesting entertaining and competent people, regardless of their club affiliation, to have a chat about my favourite spectator sport. Some of which have even developed the skill to differentiate news stories between "a strange source in Spain reported that someone's hairdresser said why isn't United buying Kane" and the kind of news we see about Tuchel talking to Kane, Kane explaining he won't sign a new contract, Hoeneß and Hainer being to London to talk to Lewis, Kane's Missus looking at real estate and schools in Munich, Hoeneß seen passing a huge brown paper bag to his neighbor in cell block B etc.
Hint: one is more reliable than the other :)

I don't know, it could be that he thinks this approach will somehow stand a better chance of him getting what he wants with Levy, or he wants to get some sort of revenge on Levy for not letting him get the move he wants in the first place.

It just seems very unlikely that he would walk away from a virtual guarantee of been the premiership top scorer to an inferior league, where winning the Bundesliga comes with barely a a care from anyone when Bayern win it, more so when he can just sit and wait a year to have his pick of any club, and make even more money in doing so.

from what i saw, Kane so far has been very gentleman-like in his approach. He denied a contract renewal, stated his wish to leave, but has pulled none of the shenanigans other players have done to get a transfer. Even Levy used the media more extensive to push his transfer to Barca. You really think there is bad blood?

and for the rest, inferior leage: maybe, but Bayern won 2 of the last 11 CL titles. Tottenham didnt. He would need to go to either Madrid, Chelsea or City to have better odds, or to PSG for equal ones.*

IIRC only PSG was interested or had a spot, and PSG is the worst of both worlds, an inferior league, plus erratic Sheikh management

I know that i'll get the heat on this based on last season, but: Even with the pot that had been steaming a while overkooking right after the winter break, this very unbalanced and erratic team in a grotesque season which saw a panic coach switch, and deleted the full management team, cruised through CL until it hit the arguably uber team of the season very hard. Bayern finished group stage (with Barca and Inter) 6-0-0 18-2 goals and swept way PSG 3-0 aggr in the round of 16.

Spurs won their group with Frankfurt and Sporting 3-2-1 and went out next round.

They want to sign him, I just don’t think they will pay the transfer fee or the wages to get it done.
Once again, why would Bayern place a second bid if they weren’t sure Kane wants to join them? Hoeneß already said “'We'll get Kane if he keeps his word”. Imho only Levy can stop this deal, i.e. he demands a ridiculous amount of money, which Bayern is not willing to pay. In this case Kane could leave for free next year.

Nobody really knows how many years Kane has left as a top player, including him. As much as some people might want to use faulty logic ("He doesn't rely on pace, so he'll be a top player until he's 37!") to reach the conclusion they want to reach, you can't really predict these things as they depend on what injuries you pick up, the natural aging process of each player's body, what kind of league you play in, etc.

Realistically, if we're talking about his years left as a truly top player its very likely somewhere between 1-4. If that's the case, would you be willing to just throw another year away at Spurs or would you want to get out ASAP?

He won’t be a Bayern player. Quote me when the transfer window closes. I’ll be waiting.

English club.
He won’t be lowering himself to the German league.
Not competitive and wages aren’t anywhere near the right ballpark.

can’t see who he would go to. He ain’t coming to us, we can’t afford him. Chelsea would be too controversial and ruin his Tottenham legacy, likewise with arsenal (who also won’t have that kind of money now). City got haaland and Newcastle is too soon. Liverpool won’t have those kind of funds and Tottenham need to sell as they don’t want to lose 100mil for him to walk out next year. Abroad is probably His only option unless he kicks up a fuss, which he won’t.

Whilst I am knocking the Bundesliga, and I'll agree PSG is a worse option for him, that is not my point.

It is that Kane is virtually the last player I would have said would be up for this given what he is on the cusp of achieving in the Premiership, and the fact he has all the power here, it's been said already that him leaving for free isn't a real option.

If Kane turns down Bayern it would be one of the greatest football betrayals of all time. It certainly feels like they have some sort of verbal agreement from some tapping up a few months ago.

This is something that bizarrely never gets mentioned.

People constantly parrot, ‘Levy holds all the cards’ - he doesn’t.

If Kane wants to stay in the PL, which he should (unless Real come in for him), the only thing Levy can do is cut his nose to spite his face - which will then equal Kane leaving for free to literally any PL team he chooses next season, and let’s not forget that Kane is an Arsenal fan…

If Kane wants Utd, which I believe he does, it really should happen THIS window. It’s all set up.

Levy will get a great price and prevent him for going for free, very possibly to a London rival.

I’m astounded more people don’t pick up pick up on this.

Levy doesn’t hold the power - Kane does!

i'm living in denial land, but every damn time we went forward against RM I was thinking "Kane scores there", "Kane gets a chance there" :(

I can see why he was ETH's primary choice, but I hope Hojlund can show more than what we already have.
Careful. There are pro Hojlund muppets you might insult.

I'm sure it's a fools errand dealing with Levy and Spurs, but I'd use all of our budget on Kane at this point. Maybe it's not enough. We can't catch City but can compete for everything else if things fall our way.
