Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Had a feeling this would come back around. It’s not like us to just drop a target if they haven’t moved elsewhere yet.

Thinking about the wage a bit more.

I guess we would always willing to pay him a bit more than Rashford (£325k).

Let’s say we give him de Geas old wage of £375k.

Plus we are removing the likes of Telles (£90k) and Bailly (£90k) from our wage bill. Plus plenty of other dead weight.

I guess we could easily give him £450-500k per week.

What wage are Bayern offering?
Martial is also on the market and apparently already in discussion with Saudi clubs and we have the likes of Henderson, Heaton and Fred that will likely also be sold in the coming weeks.

Ideally we'd also get offers for McTominay too

I dont know how we can work on Hojlund and Kane at the same time. I'd just like to see us drop a big offer on Kane and see if he pushes for it. Then move on if we feel they take the piss, but we should at least lodge a formal bid to see what happens.

He's 47 behind and given he's not reliant on pace will probably still be playing at 35-36. Plenty of time to get some freebie Bundesliga titles and come back for 3-4 seasons.

I wouldn't say plenty as he could decline by then, but yeah it's definitely possible.

my take is this; Harry prefers United for the record and to stay in the PL but has been told he has to leave or sign a new deal, so Bayern is a very decent back-up choice

I know I’m probably in the minority but I really don’t find the idea of signing another slow and aging striker appealing at all. I know he guarantees goals but I just fear that we’ll become very static in attack.

True but Spurs don't really have any power here. If he wants to leave for nothing next year then he will.

Yeah, I too would be worried about the best striker in EPL history ruining what would otherwise be a team with world-class scoring abilities. I'd hate it if he got in the way of the 3 goals Martial is going to score next season.

We can't afford to get into a long saga, potentially miss out on Kane while other targets go elsewhere. Kane is too good of a player that it's absolutely worth exploring.

I don't think it will happen though as Spurs aren't going to go from saying they won't sell him to a rival to then offering a reasonable price.

Hopefully this ultimatum is very serious and Spurs are keen sellers as they will also be keen to being in a replacement as soon as possible too.

Now this has got me all worked up all over again.

If there is any real indication out there right now that we COULD feasibly sign Kane this summer- and we don't do it- it would be the single biggest failure of judgment by this club post-Ferguson.

Even if we break FFP again it's just a small fine. If we win the league, the prize money will more than cover it.

He wants £30m per year?
£577k per week?

I know he’s world class and this is his final contract, but that’s taking the piss.
Where has this come from?

Nobody would pay transfer fee plus £30m per year

Could maybe see us late in the deadline if we make enough from player sales dropping a big offer that Spurs think about. Even then I think they would refuse it unless it was silly, which it wouldn’t be, and by the way we won’t make enough from player sales to offer anything they’d even think about. I think the possibility is so slim.

He wants almost 600k a week?
So this is how it goes.

We now panic and enter deep negotiations with Spurs.

We play back and forth all summer.

In the mean time Højlund signs for PSG relatively quickly in the background.

We reach an impasse with Spurs with a week to go of the window.

We flounder and panic probably throw close to 100m for Mouani or Ramos, still only have that player as a striker and he struggles to make an immediate impact leaving us with still the need of a no.1 striker.

We could afford Kane FFP wise if they were willing to get the fee in instalments but I doubt Levy would be interested in that.
We can still afford it, it would still be amortised for 5 years through his contract for ffp.
From what I’ve been told on here about ffp, selling Elanga for 15m would allow us to sign a player paying instalments for 15m a year this summer so over the 5 years that would free up 75m for Kane alone using this years accounts

Elanga and Henderson

We can’t possible afford close to 150-160 million for both with Kane apparently wanting over 500k wages a week too, there’s just no way
We can if the Glazers pump in money into the club to sort out any FFP issue and just ask the eventual buyer to pay them back.

That isn't how FFP, budgets or accounting practices in football works.

Exactly, it has to be nonsense. He is on 200k, Bayern would probably offer 400k at a push, we would match that I imagine.

Not for those wages. Ridiculous.

Ridiculous player though.

Doubt the wages are true, but arguably the best player in the league as well as arguably the best striker in the world, he's coming in as any clubs highest paid player.

I would have no qualms in this being a £200million fee and wages level transfer over a 4 year contract, with minimal expectations for recouping anything by way of sell on fees.

And it would be fantastic value.
