Guardiola getting worried?

Sorry Pep, not every club can cook the books and go around spending a little bit more.

Pep asking City owners if they cooked the books and accepting a no, we magically went from an £80m turnover to a £400m + turnover, spending a net $1.5bn since 2008 all legit would be like accepting Al Capone telling you he would never hurt a fly, you are either stupid or wilfully oblivious.

In any case City/Pep have no standing to criticise any other clubs spending, just plain ridiculous, there is a new bald manager in town and he don't like it

I like it, trying sooo hard to play the not bothered card! but deep down we know Pep is easily annoyed at how City are view in world football.

Not normally one to give a shit about other managers (least of all Pep) having a go, but it’s interesting to see how his perspective has changed from ‘it’s great to see Manchester United back on the right track’ to aiming barbs at us.

We must be doing something right!

When the mind games begins you know you’re doing something right. He’s never once used us spending money and not succeeding to defend City.

Has he ever looked like he isn't on something during his stint with City?

He. Is. Worried.

This just reeks of a manger really conscious of a rival team being on the best run of form in Europe, and only 2 points behind City in the league. Absolutely no chance that he does this last season while Rangnick was waiting for a season to end while they strolled to a title.

And you know what? I enjoy every second of it.

This last week has reminded me how unsuccessful we have been for such a long time. The sudden outpouring of bitterness about our spending, referee decisions, performances and our manager just goes to show we are looking like a real threat again.

There are so many people whos only experience of the premier league is the last 10 years (including pep). They have no idea how much of a giant we actually are. Pep clearly seeing how us winning even the smallest trophy eclipses everything hes achieved at City and he hates it.

We saw how bitter things got when Mourinho challenged him, so expect to see him become more deranged over the coming years as ten Hag takes us to the next level.

He is right, Ten Hag's success is totally down to spending.

When he came in the summer everyone expected him to do well because of all the successful signings we have had in the last 3 or 4 years. As we are seeing from Chelsea it doesn't matter what a coach does, the more you spend on signings the better you perform.

He has more important things to worry about. Fraud and corruption being a couple.

United are legitimate threats to City now. Or atleast heading in that direction. I think he is a little bothered by what he'll perceive as a troubling nuisance that will only get stronger and will eat away at his and City's success.

He’s an insecure little tosser. He knows nobody cares about City and now they’ve been outed as cheats it’s amplified a lot. His and City’s future being uncertain and now United looking a real threat again and he’s rattled, big time. His teams are either physically or financially doped up, probably both actually. Cheating cnut.

I hope it comes out that Barcelona were paying the referees during his time too. First half of his career would be tainted by refereeing fraud and the second half by shady financial reporting. Only his one horse run in Germany will be worth half a shit.

It's from 2001 onwards so definitely.

We've all played Football Manager games on cheat mode, it is difficult to lose and meaningless when you win.
Pep has been playing for real on cheat mode all his career basically

What’s the odds on guardiola leaving before the competition heats up? Past few years he’s only had to put up with Liverpool. Now you’ve got us and arsenal in the mix.

Why wouldn't one journo just ask, 'But, what did you really spend Pep?' Would have been nice to watch his head explode (figuratively of course).

He's an insecure prick because he knows nobody really gives a feck if he wins because they've bent the rules to get ahead.

He wouldn't do what ten Hag is doing because he lacks the bald to go into a messy situation and try to fix it. Pep needs everything perfect to succeed
Bingo, will always be why he will never be considered the best ever in my eyes.

He takes up overwhelmingly stacked decks and does what is expected. There's absolutely nothing challenging or brave about that to me.

Saying he's not worried because they beat a Liverpool side at their peak is like saying I shouldn't be worried that my boss has hired someone to replace me because i did an excellent job 2 years ago under totally different circumstances.

He's not worried because he's an excellent manager who showed time and time again he can build brilliant sides that play great football and win tons of trophies.

Should he be wary of United? See us as possible challengers? Absolutely. But worried? No more than Fergie was worried of Keegan's Newcastle, Wenger's Arsenal, etc. It's the natural life in the game.

I'd say some United fans cockyness is growing again.

weird from Pep but its starting to feel like the down side of the hill for both Pep and Klopp. I wonder where he will find his next chequebook 'project', PSG most likely.

Can he? Has he done that before time and time again like Fergie? I'd say he's the polar opposite of a manager that can build brilliant sides. He can certainly mould teams into playing fantastic football but i don't think he's a great builder of teams. Whilst he did make some good decisions at barcelona, promoting from his experience - those players were already there for him. He famously struggled to re-build or keep them motivated and hence why he left. (This isn't conjecture, these are his own words)

He then joined a ready made team in Bayern who he had no part in building. He then went to city where again he had an already star laden squad, which he spent a billion euros on. Including 3 left backs in a row whom he discarded because he couldn't get them to fit his system, even though they were his targets. I would say he actually really struggles to build teams that aren't handed to him or where he doesn't have an unlimited amount of money to spend relentlessly and I think we're going to see city go the same way as his tenure at barca ended. With him struggling to motivate or replace the players he already had. I do think at times he's tactically brilliant, but a great builder of teams? I don't see it.

Yeah it was a shame Pep never arrived to face SAF/Wenger/Jose in their prime (not his fault of course) but when Pep arrived in the Prem, City already had a few titles in the bag and United/Arsenal were in drastic decline.

Plus by the time City are actually punished in a few years for all these accusations, I imagine Pep will be long gone so he is good at dodging the tough times.

Well now to be fair, he faced prime Mourinho. And then he broke him.

Not really. He is trying to drive a narrative that people are jealous of City money or that people are accusing City of spending over the top on players. That is not the case. Many clubs including us have given silly money for normal players. City are being accused of creating money that they do not have.
Pep playing the victim card is just nonsense.

Wow! Now that is a reaction I love to see from Pep. Visibly annoyed. Bringing up money. Defensive. You can tell he is frustrated. It's great to see. Living rent free in his head. Can't wait for him to fully crack under the pressure.

We're now one of the clubs he will never forgive for asking the FA to look into City's dealings.

I look forward to the day Ten Hag buys defenders like I buy socks because he doesn't fancy his initial purchase.

To be fairs we did waste about 1bn on transfers with not too much to show for it. It’s been a while since we last won a trophy and we are expected to be winning trophies. We like to have a good moan ourselves but just dont like anyone else saying it. ETH did say it’s Time for pep and klopps era of dominance to end when joining and I imagine pep also has a few lines in the note book if they win the league etc on that…fairly normal banter.
