Gaming GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas coming out in HD

What's the point of wanting to buy this if you've already played it? I don't see the appeal
Well I agree with @BusbyMalone - it hasn’t aged well

I want to replay it but don’t go more than a couple of missions in because compared to modern games it’s a bit unplayable. Kept pressing R2 to drive too

If they can get the games somewhere close to modern graphics and gameplay, it’ll be refreshing to replay them

Heard a rumour that if this trilogy is successful they'll be remaking the first Red Dead Redemption. Hope that is true.

Played it not that long ago on PSNow and for me, it holds up really well. Would love it to get remade in the RDR2 engine with all the added extras of hunting fishing. Plus, Mexico in RDR2's engine

Okay, so, there's a big leak of the minimum and recommended requirement for PC users for the GTA Trilogy. The recommended specs on this are higher than the GTA 5 recommended specs.

Recommended:

- Intel Core i7 6600k/AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB/ AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB
- 16GB RAM
- 45GB Storage Space
- Windows 10

Also confirmed from the Rockstar Launcher pre-order screen is the following:

- Across the board enhancements
- Brilliant new lighting
- Environmental upgrades
- High-res textures (presumably 4k)
- Increased draw distances
- GTA V-style controls and targeting.

I hope environmental upgrades means smoothed polygons/rebuilds.

Looking at modded versions of these games using V graphics or whatever is tough because of all the angles to the roads and hills instead of curves.

When I was modding San Andreas I deliberately chose mods and shaders that kept the original style because trying to make it look like V makes it look terrible.

Both San Andreas and Vice City will be cool though, but I can't see the point of remastering GTA III, even though I played that a lot too.

I tried San Andreas few months back and the graphic is terrible, not how I remembered it, games really age badly

Hopefully we’ll see an announcement soon.

Will San Andreas still have that fog everywhere to mask draw distance? If it doesn't you'll probably be able to see San Fierro and Las Venturas from Los Santos, yeah?

GTA III and VC both could use re-made cut scenes. Some of them are way shorter than they should be.

Problem with the remasters is going to be map size, they're gonna seem so small, they took ages to complete just because it sent you to the same locations at opposites sides of the map repeatedly.

Yeah, games still do this now, but nowhere near as much as they used to. I mean, some places in some games you only ever visit once or twice, or even just pass through.

I think these are all gonna feel much more repetive than they used to.

Well, that's how I feel anyway. Sure some people will love them, and maybe at a decent price point it'll be good for those who never played them.

Vice City kicked up the graphics and put licensed music in for the first time and enlisted Hollywood names into the cast. The game feels very small though outside of the story missions. Once you’ve completed the story, there was no strong desire to keep playing really.

Vice City had this great spot where you could get the army after you and actually stay alive for awhile.

The city in San Andreas felt a lot more alive to me than V. Always felt like there was more going on.

The riots towards the end of San Andreas amazed teenage me. Random NPCs attacking you and trying to steal your car (that you already stole), burning cars and buildings. It was great.

Yeah there's no doubt the gameplay in V was better, and arguably Trevor and Franklin were better protagonists, but as a whole package I enjoyed San Andreas more.

That's how I felt about IV myself. I absolutely loved its world, everything from random things you'd encounter on the street through to the music built a world that felt fully realised. V played better but it was so game-y, for lack of a better world. Even the interactions in the street were mostly missions.

IV deserves a lot more love than its gotten from Rockstar Games. Utterly shambolic that Playstation users still can't play that game on a PS5 or even a PS4. I mean, we've had three iterations of GTA V on different gen consoles but no ported compatibility to play even the original GTA IV. They've only had since fecking 2013 to sort this out.

No one making it through this one.

I've never played IV maybe I should give it a whirl. Got on board from VC but missed that one for some reason.

Speaking of IV, Broker FM is still my favourite thing about any GTA. Really captures that mid-2000s hipster vibe. You know before Kevin in IT made avocado toast and lattes so not cool.

A remaster of IV would be amazing. With the resources Rockstar have though they should really be doing full on remakes. Remaking the original RDR with RDR2 graphics would be

“Cousin, I never hear from you, we should go bowling!”

feck off you needy bastard!!

Alright, so a potentially very good leak here. First posted it at the beginning of October. According to this leak, the full trailer for the Trilogy is tomorrow, on the 20th year anniversary of GTA III. If they announce, like this person has written, that the release date is on November 16th then the next announcement following this could be very exciting. Seems to think that they're going to officially tease GTA VI on Nov. 23rd too.

Oh wow

I have liked all the GTA's. IV was not as good as VC/SA/V but still decent. I remember the hype when I got it. Sent my mum to get it for me because I was at school and that was the longest day ever.
