Apart from James McClean nearly knocking him into next year in Dublin I know little of him.
He has been a vital player for Sevilla but I'm not sure he has the passing range and quality on the ball that a club like United should ideally have in a DM. For me, he is a bit like Javi Martinez - he can be a rock defensively but you have to pair him with an 8 that can drop deep and dictate play, like Schweinsteiger did at Bayern in that pairing under Heynckes. Basically, if you buy Krychowiak then you also need to buy another player to be the passer. Schweinsteiger and Carrick are too old, neither Schneiderlin nor Rooney have the passing skills.
That is a fair assessment. That said, he´d still be our best midfielder by quite a margin and we need a creative midfielder anyway.
Shame that the source is The Sun, otherwise Krychowiak could be a really good CDM signing for us. He has been a standout at Sevilla over the past few years, being part of both Europa League Team of the Season, and La Liga Team of the Season.
I agree. As an Arsenal fan, I hope it doesn't happen. But I think United would be best off to just give Mourinho a blank check to buy a new midfield: Krychowiak, Andre Gomes, and James or something like that. In my view, everybody in midfield on the current roster is a squad player at best for a club of United's ambition.

I think you are being very harsh and it's a stark contrast to the rest of the opinions on him. That's why I was amused. Is he a limited midfielder? Yes, probably. But he isn't average. In fact he's exactly the sort of midfielder Mourinho would absolutely love.
Brilliant player, would love to see him in the red of United.
