I'd love to see a short directed by Greta Gerwig of Pogue and Amar going to the cinema together to see this.
Without spoliers, is this a kids movie? Is it for adults? I'm a bit confused.

It's so fecking good. It's a gorgeous looking film, the cast is excellent, it's funny and light on the surface but deconstructs the concept of Barbie in an interesting way. It's also hilarious at times.

The problem with watching movies is that, when you're watching a movie, you can't do something else until the movie has finished

It's 7,7 already on IMDB, I doubt it will be above 6,7 in two months. Oppenheimer is 9,0.
Can't compare that. One is getting review-bombed by people who haven't seen it because it has feminist messages (13 percent of the votes cast are one-star reviews, and it's obviously not a one-star film), the other one isn't (1.8 percent one-star reviews).

Oh most definitely. And it's not even subtle, the feminism is very much on the nose. Considering some posters' positions on women in film on the Caf, I can see quite a few fuming at it. It's glorious.
He is quite wonderful, simply put. Ken is super well written, but his delivery is top notch and the more physical parts of the performance (dancing, singing) are great too. He's been memed as this sort of flat, monotone actor (mainly after Drive I guess), but he's actually great. If you liked him in The Other Guys, you'll love him in this.

You can hate them, but the rating was always decent. If it ends up as 6,5 it's definitely not a 8/10 movie, you can be sure of that. Btw I am not hating it at all, I just hate when every movie is hyped up front.

Also Greta Gerwig is great. This, Ladybird and Little Women is a fecking trio of films a lot of directors would be proud of by the end of her careers.

And 61 percent of the Oppenheimer reviews are 10-star. Obviously the people most likely to review a film on IMDb are the ones who like it, that's always been the case (and partly explains The Shawshank Redemption's inexplicable rating). Point still stands; Barbie's score is heavily deflated by haters who haven't and won't be seeing it, Oppenheimer's is not (to any comparable degree). Tbh all this Barbie talk has reminded me of Todd Hayes great film on Karen Carpenter using only Barbie dolls.
Oppenheimer gets 10/10 possibly because it's brilliant and serious movie. From the trailers posted, and from their premieres, pictures, interviews, Barbie itself doesn't take itself seriously and it's more fun and light themed than serious movie that even tries to be great, and I hardly doubt movie with that kind of vibe will ever be considered great by average movie goer. And it will quite often get 1/10 simply because some people don't like the theme. Of course it will get 1/10 from the haters too, many movies will. Even Godfather has 1/10s.
Btw Oppenheimer has 32k votes in total, and Barbie has 20k votes, I wouldn't say that's lot of different percentage in comparision to people who have seen one vs other, despite you being convinced that lots of these votes are fake.
Seriously, just go see it, or don't comment on it. You have no idea what you're talking about.
I'm talking percentages, not total numbers. There's quite a difference between 1.8 and 13.5 percent one-stars.
