BTW I'd say that In My Life is probably their best song. And while I think they were good, I don't reckon they deserve to be held in as high a regard as they are. They have their place in the annals of pop music history but I'll stand by my original claim. I'd personally rate the Stones above them from that era as well.
Pink floyd and the small faces are my fav's but would personally just give it to queen for overall classic output of songs and energy especially live.Liked some beatles stuff but prefered lennon solo for example and feel his songs are lyrically more moving.
