Greatest British band ever!

i love Led Zeppelin.

but the besales are the greatest british band hands down...they changed music forever in all aspects...business wise, production wise and music wise.

The Beatles were the 60s equivalent of Take That. Hyped up boy band who were vastly over-rated but had a couple of potential stars once they split up.

That's classic.

Bullshit.......but classic.

Led Zep, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, The Who, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple... and the list goes on and on

feck off and die you ignorant piece of shit,

The Beatles changed the face of music and if were not for them many bands would not exist.

please share with us the bands you like.

Beatles of course.

Anyone saying anything different is wrong. Sure you might have your personal preferences but Beatles is still the greatest.

no you dont...just the floyd and stones's hype instead?
I just find more quality of music in the back catalog of Pink Floyd and the Stones than in The Beatles to justify what praise exists for all three. It helps of course that I've seen the Stones live and am raised by a father who loves Pink Floyd and got me into their stuff early on. Being only 18 years old I never saw the Beatles live obviously but from what videos I've seen they weren't as good as Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones

the beatles couldnt develop live as the others could though...they couldnt hear themselves on stage cause of the screaming, hence they stopped touring...just as that sort of thing died down for the stones.

if theyd stuck together and kept touring theyd have blown the stones off stage (and i love the stones).

though of course Led Zeppelin were better than both the stones or floyd live...so who knows.

The Beatles were obviously an influential band (although i find them tediously shite). I'm not sure they changed the face of music, just took it along a natural progression in much the same way at the Sex Pistols or The Clash did (or whoever started the hip hop scene). Music progresses from generationto generation and I don't believe any one band can change the "face of music"/

As for bands I like The Smiths, U2, The Buzzcocks, Artic Mondays, Pink Floyd, Human League, Echo & The Bunnymen, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Cream, The Doors to name a few. I like lots of different music at different times, right now I'm listening to lots of Motown after watching the movie "Standing in the Shadows of Motown"

I think that might have to be the other way around
I do love Take That, I have been a huge fan since the early 90's and I still am to this day (I'm going to see them twice in October, can't wait) :)

Mmhhh. Now I look at it, bands from Manchester seem to be the most gloomy, intimate, not "rock'n'rollish" type of bands.
I love the Smiths anyway.

But Beatles number one hands down.
