I still remember Grealish coming on against Germany when the game was still 0-0 and the commentator says "here comes Grealish, he truly is the man of these moments" and then I remembered that he'd never even been in a moment like that before

I think he is a really good player and will contribute to where ever he goes but my god is he one overhyped dude. The pressure on him will be immense.
“Not even Grealish could save England” when they drew against Scotland. Utterly bizarre the hype around him.

Pity they couldn't just call up a young lad named Sancho from their reserves . Hope Villa thoroughly fleece city on the fee.

Just checking, does this post change the fact master tactician Pep constantly gets beaten by McFred and Dan James?
We used to win the league and laugh our arses off when city celebrated the double against us. Funny how things turn out in life.

Stop side tracking. Ole gets shit on way too much by our own supporters. Yet when he out thinks the best manager in the game, given no credit at all. Pep is a great manager who has even given unprecedented financial backing. Ole is now getting that, so how about wait and see how things go this season?

Saying he is not the best coach in the league is not getting shat on.

Grealish is a very good player and while he will obviously make the City squad stronger I think they have excellent wide options anyway but IMO their priority has to be a goalscorer.

Many said pep system not suited for grealish. Of course it may be correct as of now but pep is not a pub team manager either. If he wanted grealish he will use his strengths to benefit the team most.

I think pep will push sterling permanently to bench if grealish come to city. With all his positives sterling has,he is not good in controlling the ball the skill pep wanted in his team all over the pitch.Grealish has that close control ability.

If grealish signed for city it will be mutually beneficial for him as well as city.Grealish will improve his team work game like pass and move pattern of play and city will benifit from grealish individual brilliance in final third.

Why do people think Grealish is not suited for Peps system? Is it because he likes to run forward with the ball and dribble?

His current game isn't suited. Under Pep, the players positions are fixed almost like LVGs and they create openings based on ball circulation. Very few times do you see a City player running with the ball. Grealish likes to drift and a lot of his game revolves around running with the ball and taking players on. The only position he will be allowed to do that at City is out wide where he is less effective. Hence why he has to adapt.

The fanboys of PT teacher will now compare him to probably the best manager of last 20 years.
Football fans are known to be blind followers, so nothing surprising here.

The fact that you call our manager who has outperformed all our managers post-SAF and has made great strides in the football we play a "PT teacher" shows you should probably worry about your blindness before worrying about others.

Not that Ole can be compared by any stretch of imagination to Pep currently.

He's very self indulgent a bit like Pogba and Hazard, which is a good thing when he's the main at Villa but Pep usually hasn't had those sort. Messi I suppose but he's inexplicably effective whereas Grealish is not. I do think Grealish is overrated, especially here, but he is a very good player who will further improve City. Would be brilliant at United and I actually think his style suits us better. But after Sancho (who I prefer) we obviously can't go for him.

he's a charismatic player with a rockstar aura. He's the type of player/personality that clashes with Pep and his micromanagement style and cold personality. He's not a player's coach like Ole and Klopp, who allow their players individuality and freedom on/off pitch. Why his people believe he could fit in a place like City just blown my mind. Wont be surprised if he's a bust and loaned in two years to Italian clubs.

What makes you think Pep, with his strong political opinions on Catalan independence, would restrict the freedoms of Grealish? What evidence is there that Grealish is some sort of 1960s rebel incarnate? Getting pissed every now and again and driving like a nutter doesn't count:)

They are replacing Bernado Silva with Grealish for 100m? Dont think its that big of an upgrade if it is an upgrade at all. Maybe it have to do with Homegrown quota

Really?

I’m with you on this.

Because he loves to hold on to the ball for ages whereas City are more pass and move, with De Bruyne being the main man and will remain the main man. It's not that he doesn't suit them though for me, I just think they need someone more direct with the running in behind threat than a Grealish. Grealish basically provides what Bernardo did a couple of years ago when he was at his best, which of course is a quality player but not one who gets in behind which you need a balance of.

They also score very few goals from free kicks and like to keep the game fluid which free kicks doesnt.

He would be miles better than VDB for us if they got relegated but for 100 mill... if we keep hold of Pogba thats a much better outcome.

If that's true how many records would this transfer smash?

Most expensive Premier League signing and Jack Grealish most expensive English (Irish :wenger: ) player of all time

Seems the telegraph have been the first to report it but they've contacted all of them to see if its true and got a nothing from any of City, Villa or Grealish management

Madness that they're spending £100m and it ain't even a striker.

Grealish is a potentially great player but I think he's the type to thrive in a team where he'd have more license than at City.
