Graham Potter in at Man Utd?

Seeing him do those dour, apologetic interviews week after week would be the official confirmation of the demise of United. Dear Lord! Delete thread!

Don't know - the style would be better (even that Frankenstein Chelsea squad played better football under him than we've done since March) and he'd demand movement. Could see Mainoo and Hannibal alongside a new CM signing as the 3, and Amad on the right linking with Hojlund effectively. Also significantly less likely to demand say over transfers.

We'd probably have to get rid of the ageing players and Rashford, possibly Fernandes though, which might be better longer-term but would quite possibly require further short-term pain - players currently being reliant upon 'moments' from those two....

I like him but it wouldn’t work and it’s a nonsense story to begin with. An owner that isn’t here choosing a manager to replace one that hasn’t been sacked.

They have been playing better football recently, better than I remember under Potter.

As bad as we've been so far this season, I still think its too early to think about ETH replacements.

That said, I still rate Potter really highly though. Wouldn't be against him at OT one day.

Hasn't Potter also be criticised for not getting his teams to score enough goals?

We haven't scored that much under ten Hag so replacing him with someone who has the same problem would be baffling.

They've also brought in more (quality) players at great cost like Caicedo, Jackson as a runner and focal point, Palmer as a slightly cut-price Phil Foden. Mudryk's had more time to adjust, likewise Enzo.

Poch also is a good coach: I'm not saying he's a downgrade on Potter. And even with all of that, they were still a bit sluggish at the start of the season, if underperforming their xG in a similar way to under Potter. I'm not saying Potter would be my first choice, but I don't think it's an outlandish pick, so long as you recognize other, larger things in terms of squad composition also would need to change.

Um no thanks his Chelsea team was more clueless than we currently are.

This obviously won't happen because his name doesn't begin with "M". Mata, Mourinho, Matic, Mount...Potter? It doesn't fit

It's a nothing story. But as a fit I don't think it would work anyway. You need a manager who can deal with big egos and huge expectations. ETH is a bit more of a technocrat than I'd like, but you can't have it all.

I just want a manager to be completely in control of a dressing room and no player being anywhere close to being able to challenge the manager's authority. For that to work you need someone who is fearless. Obviously still hoping Erik is that man, and I think he can be.

Sir Jim doesn't rate him. Its just the media trying to stir.

I think it's amazingly difficult sometimes to judge Chelsea players due to how fecking many they get through. It's hard to keep up tbh.

That twitter account posts nothing but BS.

It should be banned as a source for posts and threads.

Well Brailsford is a master of doping, so it would make sense he'd only go after managerial dopes.

He shitted his pants at Chelsea despite the fact that Chelsea owner gave him an open checkbook. In the same time period, Erik did great against all odds, and while not getting players he needed

I am far from thinking that EtH is irreplaceable, but Potter ffs?!

I thought we’d learned our lesson with managers who’d never won anything
