Goonies is a prime example of a film you liked as a kid but which absolutely does not stand up when you watch it as an adult. Tried watching it a while ago and it was just annoying kids continuously screaming at each other
Do you currently have, or have you ever had kids? Because I'm willing to bet that your experiences with having them probably prejudices your annoyance levels upon rewatching it.

I still love it. The 80’s teen’s setting is still so good I must have watched Goonies over 10 times it’s actually the only 4K piece of media I have ever bought I have the 4K blu ray
Having said that I just don’t know about a sequel I think at this point the original cast should have a small part, maybe their kids are the ones going for an adventure? They’re all too old now
