Good Non Cup Tied Strikers....

Players who played in the UEFA cup are also cup tied for the Champions League.

Shevchenko is one, but he'll surely feature in Milan's next matches as he rebuilds his fitness.

I wouldn't have any of them frankly. I'd want a top international striker, proven at the highest level. True though, there aren't many who fit the bill. Schevchenko would be a quality late christmas present though and I wouldn't care if he could only play in the Prem this season.

U guys actually think the one coming will be a TOP candidate? ... I wouldn't think the $ is there ... no not another big chunk of pounds to be thrown out ... It will have to be some sensible buy IMO ... anything within 8mil or 10mil max ... the lesser it is the higher chance it could be ...

My choices ( sensible ones - not gonna call for Cisse, Del Piero..etc ) :

Christie
Vasell
Eto'o

I actually like Gavou quite a lot ... but that will very much depends on his team's qualifying to CL ... he wouldn't think abt it at all if they did ...

United shouldn't just be after a journeyman who can do a job in the Premiership.
Bring someone in who can improve the options for years to come. A top name please, even if he isn't qualified for the Champions League this season.

Very sound but we could put a make weight into the deal as well, chadwick, fortune, neville (p) or someone else who is not going to deliver class into the side - so set the sights at £10-15m

A) So if we sign someone in January we'll be limited in using him for the first four months, but thats no excuse at not signing someone who can contribute long term.

B) Fergie retiring at the end of the season? Do you know someone the world does not?
