Gonzalo Higuain

Please no. He goes missing everytime I watch Napoli (though not a lot of matches) but scores when I don't. If we get him, I'll have to stop watching our games.
He's scored 36 in 35 league games this season. Saying you don't watch them much must be an understatement.

He didn't score in 15 games for Napoli. Most of those games are against Juve, Roma, Inter, Milan, Villareal. Think it's fair that's the type of games you would watch for a team you don't really follow. Not that I watched all 15 games, maybe some 5-10games and I think that categorises as "not a lot of matches".

Agreed. He's scored 0 goals in the games he hasn't scored in. That's horrific.

Not a dream signing but of those out there he fits the bill. Depends on the fee though.

The fee will be relatively big, probably something around 50-60m. It was speculated 40m in the media, but i think that would be too low, just a sum placked out of nowhere. They rely heavily on him and they sell their star players for a huge fee (Cavani). I think their president said last year it would need his release clause to sell him, which is 65m pounds i think.

Would be very happy with him. People look at him and see the big game misses but he's a pure finisher. One of the few out there that can almost guarantee 25+ goals per season.

He'd be a great signing with what's out there. 38 goals! We should be all over that if there is a chance of getting him.

Ffs Higuain's a top striker nowadays. Witht the quality of strikers out there Might as well stick with Rashford.

in what world is he worth £60, just a ridiculous figure for someone that isnt world class

Seems high to me. He's not up there with the very best and we know what happens to strikers post 30.

The same world that Stirling and Luiz are worth £50m+
You cant use examples of two of the most overpriced and shocking buys of recent time and pretend thats an example to follow for us.That shouldn't be our goal to do something just as stupid, we have to purchase smarter than that, starting with Ibra on a free.

Damn those were hardly tap in's either. He hits the ball so clean. Great striker of the ball.

Having watched him all season, I think most of the people on here criticizing him really haven't. He has been incredible for Napoli, and if he can carry his from into the PL then he would be a great signing. But that's the big IF, considering our record with Argentinians and players from Serie A.

Transfer fees will be even more shocking with new TV deal and a world where west ham make 31m bids for players.

£72million release clause

So, I expect a market value: 45m + 20m (bonus depending the performances of the club & player)

Klopp has been pictured watching Argentina match in the Copa America with Higuain's agent. I don't understand why we, Arsenal or Chelsea aren't in for him?

One of the world's best number 9 right now.

There is very little point signing Higuain for big money when we have Ibrahimovic coming most likely. Chelsea look like they going for a younger option.

Higuain is a good player. But his age and high price will put off a lot of clubs.

Would be an unbelievable signing for them. I really fecking hope it doesn't happen.

Can't see Liverpool splashing £60m+ on him.

He's exactly what Liverpool need but he'll have better clubs lined up for his signature.

We should really be all over this tbh

I always thought he was a bit of a bottler, but his form over the past 12 months cannot be argued with. If the money was right, he'd be a good option, even if he has no sell-on value. My only qualm would be that he might not flourish under a new system in a much more high-tempo league. We shall see...
