Golf 2019

He obviously doesn’t. His ball striking becoming irratic isn’t helping anything either.

He obviously doesn’t  ok then. His ball striking hasn’t been great but he’s still around middle of the pack in GIR. He’s been in a major lull and is battling his way out of it, he got frustrated with his own mistakes. It happens. The tee ball on 8 was Grellers fault. The 2nd shot was on Spieth but when you know you’re to blame sometimes you lash out, don’t see why he has to be so heavily criticised for it. He’ll have apologised to Greller, so let’s all move on and stop nonsense like he can’t find a green without help.

He sure didn’t have a second thought about the numbers the caddy gave him... until after the bad shots.

What do you think irratic ball striking does to a yardage book?

Shorts one, the other goes long. He claims they were perfect and were the caddy’s fault. I’d love a look at that book.

That shot he hit over the green was pure, it was the wrong club. Greller even suggested one less so Spieth was just pissed at himself for making an error and lashed out.

Koepka is in the hunt. Woodland is keeping his cool though!

Good to see Tiger put up a good number on a Sunday at the US Open again.

Just saw that!

he was
+2 through the first 10 holes. Those two bogies at the end of his second round fecked his weekend. I think he'd have been in the hunt had that not occurred.

He was +4 for the first 6 holes and then -6 for his final 12!

Yep. You’ve basically gotta look at it like par is the best you need to push for on the hardest holes and then go after it when they give you a less hard one, which at the US Open is just 3 maybe 4 times a round.

Woodland has only had 2 bogeys all week at this point. Unreal.

I only saw from the 10th when I woke up.

Great to see the fight he still has! Fancy him to do well at Royal Portrush next month.

Can't see anything but Koepka winning from here. Woodland has been great but Koepka just has major Sundays nailed at the moment. Rose seems to have lost the magic putter dust of his last few rounds.

And he birdies to move within one! The man is a machine.

Agreed. Always has come across as a good dude.

That said, myself and the wife were following him around at the Singapore Open a couple of years ago. I had to switch to following Spieths group instead as she was getting a little too enamoured by him!

 He is a handsome man according to my wife as well. She also has the hots for Woodland.

If I was a betting man, i'd be putting money on Rose (edit: even after that tee shot on 12).

I reckon he's going to explode in last 4 holes.

Yeah I hadn't realised how good he's been on the back 9 this week until they put that stat up a while ago.

Never bad to see Rose winning but I still reckon Koepka will see it out.

Koepka shanks an iron 250 yards.

I smashed my 5 wood off the tee today for 225 yards.

The feck man

Earlier on, the commentator said Koepka was lining up his 2nd shot from 222 yards. A second later the other commentator said he was going with 6 iron.

He went through the back of the green!

Fair play to Woodland for coming through that wobble and never giving another inch. He's gone out an won this with the confidence of man who's won majors before.

It’s unreal man. Absolutely unreal.

I’ve hit a baseball as far as a major league player. I’ll never hit a golf ball like a PGA pro.

I've said it before, but Brooks is an outrageous golfer, but he is not special like Tiger.

He just doesn't have that ability to pull something out of nothing and make those clutch shots or magic moments.

Rory is the only player who has anything like the magic Woods had. He's not half as good a golfer as Woods or Koepka though.

Back in my days as a part time Uber driver while paralegalling at global law firms, I met a gentlemen who's son works as a performance sports scientist and works with some pretty big players in the golfing world. He worked with Rory in assisting him with improving his torque to get larger driving distances and not cripple his back ala Tiger.

When Rory first came to see him, he was pumping out something like 95 (what ever the measurement for it was) and they managed to get him upwards of around 110-115. He said, that was a dramatic improvement and they were extremely happy, but it was nowhere near Tiger in his prime. Apparently peak Tiger was somewhere up around 135-140 which they said just boiled down to freakish genetics.

1) That’s for real a cool story.

2) Good lord. Rory smashes the ball and his hip action is unreal.

Now I need to go back and watch old tape of Tiger in his prime.
