Glazers / Woodward out! (One down)

Ole is a Glazer puppet, after coming out post match against Brighton saying the board are working hard and that he is very happy with what he has I've lost all trust in what he says.
What if Ole just wanted to minimize the damage. When you said negativity about the boards on public, that means war.

Sir Alex was doing the same though, he always defend the glazers on public.

Forget about how much the club earns actually, they are the same ones that decided to manage the club and transfers the way they do, shambolically that is. Every half brained United fan would tell you that we need a DOF, yet we are still operating in what way? The manager decides way? The same managers that we chop and change every 2 years? The scouting team decided player acquisitions? That same team that decided to buy Fred for 50m?

Maybe we could hit a jackpot and get it right eventually, but that would require way more spending than they have demonstrated in recent year imo. If they are serious to let it all on the managers without club DOF planning, they will need more than the annual 150 m in this current market.

The Glazers aren’t in charge of hiring a DoF, that would be the CEO, Ed Woodward.

No club regularly spends more than £150m net on an annual basis, that is ridiculous

We have been through this to death on the forum. Only the two oil clubs have spent more net than Manchester Utd over the last decade and they aren’t ran for-profit.

You can always argue we could or should spend more but the simple fact is that Liverpool, Bayern, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all won major trophies on a regular basis whilst spending less than Utd

Have patience and stick with it. The club realised about 18mnths ago they had made mistakes and are trying to rectify them. That doesn’t happen overnight unfortunately, it could be a 4/5 season process

Sir Alex had results to cover things up. Ole cant do shit with this shower of shit players.

Massively backstabbed by these cretins called Glazers and Woodward.

Sir Alex was in a different position, through his brilliance we were still elite.

I don't see how Ole is minimising the damage, by not speaking out he just compiling the feeling of distrust. Ole is in the perfect position, the fans love him and would back him 100% putting the board in a very hard situation. I get the sense he is just happy for the job.

Someone from the US who knows the Glazers was on a podcast recently. He said the Glazers have zero interest in the club, they dont follow the games and all they care about is that sheet of paper every quarter that outlines how much profit they are making. Whilst this football club is providing a return on their investment they will not sell up.

Top reds would still be shouting "trust the process" and "have patience" when these leeches have run the well dry.

What this says to me is, Joel and Avram want to run the club and the other siblings are not on the same page. They unfortunately have big powers too and therefore will have a say on things.

Darcie, Kevin and Ed I'm pretty sure have never been to OT, so they straight away probably just want the money and run.
Yes I read a few years ago that there are 3 kids who 'support' Utd and would back it better, but the other 3 see it as a cash cow. This then boils down to a stand off as if the 3 that dont want Utd, sold up, the other 3 'supporters' would lose all the power. The sad fact is that this isnt doing the club any favouurs at all.
The youth side, infastructure and the scouting for that has improved, but the ground, the first team and matching spending on that side has gone down. All we can hope is we unearth a Greenwood every year.

Fergie was the reason these parasites got in in the first place

If the club genuinely realised the mistakes they had made, they would have replaced Woodward and Judge on the footballing side of things at the very least.

Another 4 to 5 season process. Like the 2 to 3 season process after Moyes?

Or does that really make it a 7-12 year process under Woodward, who so far has made mistake after mistake and has been pulling the rug out from under the club any time we make progress?

Everyone hates the Glazers. Top red or no top red. You're talking as if the 'top reds' have the power to force the Glazers out of the club.
If you cant stand the Glazers then do something about it then, instead of running your mouth on an internet forum. Were you there 10 years ago when the Green and Gold movement was at its peak? Did you join the weekly protests outside Old Trafford at that time? Have you ever done anything to support the Glazers out movement, other than running your mouth on the internet, antagonizing fellow United fans?

Woodward reports to the Glazers, if he does not do a good job and he is still at work, it's their fault, not sure why people ignore that part?

Well gross net, should be pretty irrelevant to a club run shambolically to us fans. Do you actually expect me to take into consideration net spend when that grossly depends on sales, sales of players bought for enormous fees because we are run by morons, given and extended bumper contracts by the same incompetent fools, and still you expect them to be sold for good fees in order to influence our net spent figure? We but stupid for high amounts and sell low because we buy incompetent and give stupid contracts. As I said, if they persist of this type of operating, 150 is not enough imo, it was evident that last season we needed more players, as it will be now even with Sancho brought (which I doubt we will). We will still be short of a CDM, LB, ST.

We have been through this to death on the forum. Only the two oil clubs have spent more net than Manchester Utd over the last decade and they aren’t ran for-profit.

They have, but they have a proper structure which puts them in position to operate smartly. Who's fault is we are run this way? And who still makes huge profits?

Have patience and stick with it. The club realised about 18mnths ago they had made mistakes and are trying to rectify them. That doesn’t happen overnight unfortunately, it could be a 4/5 season process
This last part is laughable to me, I was thinking this way maybe couple of year ago but realized I was in denial. The club has made huge fecking mistakes and not learned from them, wait and see how we go into this season unprepared, or bad prepared because it's 3 weeks into the season, and we are yet to reinforce crucial positions in the first team. Wait and see how frauds like Lingard get offered new contracts, it's a never ending process with this management.

Woodward and his right hand man are bankers, they are also idiots.

Another amazing bit of incompetence, just when we looked to be getting on track we pull of this farce of a transfer window.

Spurs with no Champions League football and a newly built £1B stadium doing a better job in the transfer market.

They have Daniel Levy. Like the man or not he is good at what he does.

We have Ed "We can do things other clubs can only dream of" Woodward.

 Ok tough guy.

City £142m  I guess those “sponsorship deals” cover most of their spending.
If you ignore Spurs, who built a stadium in that period, the full horror sinks in...

There was no process prior to 18mnths ago, that’s the problem.

I think the backlash against Woodward and Glazers will be bigger than ever this time around. They have clearly failed the manager, the fans and everyone else.

However divided the fans are about Ole, the one thing that 95% of Manutd fans agree on is we have not been backed enough this window.

Liverpool are yet again miles better on and off the pitch.

We used to be able to attract players and pay for them, now we cannot even do that.

We sold Sanchez so thats £50m of the wages, Perreira on loan, Chong on loan, Smalling leaving so that is £15m plus his wages saved and we have only bought VBD.

You are aware we finished 3rd and have won more pts per game post-Fernandes than City or Liverpool?

The problem with most posters (and the previous incarnation of Ed Woodward) is that they don’t understand how hard it is to sign players who have the right quality and attitude to improve the team. If you want hordes of sh**e signings just for signings sake then fine, let’s have another window of Rojo’s, Blind’s, Schweinsteiger’s, Schneiderlin’s etc....

I would much prefer to focus on making long term, strategic signings one player at a time. “Long term” in football means 3/4 seasons, most football fans seem to think “long term” is 3/4 months

You would hope the impact of Covid would have put them in a position where they would consider a sale of the club.

When you look back perhaps they should have sold the club to the Qatar Royal Family back in 2011

So we finished 3rd then? Ahead of Chelsea on goal difference and 15 points behind City at 2nd. Ole managed the bare minimum and deserved backing this summer though.

You mentioned those "horde shit signings", they were shit because someone identified the wrong players, not because we didn''t need 2 CMs and a CB.

Yeah it is pretty hard for a club who has no proper planning and it is proven year after year. How hard was it for Chelsea to find their attacking reinforcement in Werner? Or Arsenal in Willian for example? Not that hard imo. They identified available players and pulled the trigger. City did the same with the guy from Valenica, Liverpool with Jota and Thiago.

These long term strategic signing you talk about could have been done 1 month ago, just like Bruno could have been done in August 2019. This "one player at a time" is complete nonsense imo. Sancho has been on the market all summer, we could have done the deal as soon as the season PL finished, same as Telles, and DVB, but here we are.

Amazing how literally every other club can make signings apart from us then eh? We must have the most rigorous requirements of what makes a good signing

You can understand why they didn't back then but now, if ever, is the best time for them to sell. But they're also lucky that fans aren't allowed in the grounds and have to social distance, so they can't even protest outside.

Sorry but this makes no sense. In the last calendar year we have signed

Maguire £80m
AWB £50m
Dan James £15m
Bruno Fernandes £45m
Donny van de Beek £40m

Not to mention all of the players we have paid fees for to join the Academy/u23s

Forget about the monetary values for a second....how can you look at the above and say “how can every club make signings apart from us”?

It’s also very possible we will add at least one more in the next few days....come on...have a bit of patience!

Can see from all the recent tweets and so on the journalists are recognising that Ole has been massively let down and is facing down the barrel of a really difficult season due to the sheer ineptitude of this board.

Absolutely staggering to see all of Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton all either spend more money / recruit more players or both, while we have farted about all summer. Infuriating.

Yes, last year we signed players because we finished 6th. The year before we did feck all after finishing 2nd, leading to us finishing 6th. Now here we are again, basically no transfer business. How can I say other clubs can make signings? Because its fecking true. Even Spurs and Arsenal have spent more and signed more players than us and have shown more ambition. Every time we get a half decent season, we tighten the purse strings and do feck all.

And you're still holding out hope? It'd be a miracle if we sell Smalling to finance a few extra million to bring in Telles. And then hope we get a random loan in attack. But the window has been open since July. We're in October, heading into the last weekend. We arent doing anything.

What exactly do you expect the backlash to achieve? The board do not care and only thing that can hurt them is income. Ole will get sacked, will be replaced by another manager and a couple of players will be signed. Fans will fall for it with renewed optimism and the cycle will start again.

the stadiums are empty. They have a free pass this season :(

What about the two players I just listed that we have spent £90m on since January?

You know why people talk about “net” spend...because very, very few clubs around the world do not have to sell to buy. Even Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern and Barcelona effectively balance the books by shipping out unwanted players to finance new purchases.

There are only three clubs over the last decade that have spent significantly more than they have received - those clubs are United, City and PSG

I would love the club to be owned by the fans. I would love the club not to have to pay interest payments. I’m just saying you can’t accuse the Glazers of not sanctioning transfers because they very clearly do

Negative media is always bad for any brand. When you are successful, negative media is not there because fans are happy with on field results however; when that becomes a failure as well, negative media can be a bad thing.

Do you think, a new shirt sponsor will not carry out their due diligence? Look at the comments that every Addidas, Chevrolet and other sponsors get on social media when this backlash happens.

Do you think those companies just say oh well, its nothing? or do you think there will be conversations had with Manutd executives?

If organisations are paying to be a sponsor and all you get is social media hate, would you be happy?

In January, this happened but the board signed Bruno and it went quiet, the board will not have a chance to buy anyone after the window which will make it a prolonged backlash.

Starting to think these scum are using the empty stadium to their advantage, there won't be a public protest this season. No chants etc. which were particularly vocal prior to the Bruno signing.

Someone needs to buy a poster van to attend every stadium while we're playing with a giant Glazers out banner.

It's horrible being a fan, it feels like there is nothing we can do.

The whole thing is so depressing. I posted before about United failing to resemble a sporting project. Now they do something right and spend money fairly well and what do they do? Decide to eff the whole thing up yet again. I would understand if there was no money but the glazers siphon off huge amounts for themselves and leave nothing. The club has become bigger, the revenues have increased yet United still seem to forever be in hundreds of millions of pounds of debt. I understand corporate borrowing but I would suggest there is nothing to show for it really.

People try to defend things but let’s face it there have been rumours and statements of dissatisfaction regarding the running of the club for years. Can’t just be that everyone is making it all up. I have no issues with the club trying to make money and a club like Bayern show how you can pursue that cash whilst still remaining true to sporting principles.

If the shit hits the fan an empty stadium won’t stop old timers going out and protesting. Saying that, we’ve never had many militants in our fan base.

We signed Bruno and Ighalo in January because top 4 was at a serious threat and fan backlash was getting heavy after losing to Burnley(Woodward`s house being invaded an example)not because we have any sort of ambition those two signings don`t count. Our spending revolves on keeping us profitable enough to be in the CL and reap those rewards our average net spend without CL football is 160m with it its 80m there is no consistency in how we spend and our business model is keeping us in a vicious cycle that will forever hamper us from ever winning the PL/CL as long as they`re here

lets not forget we walked away from Bruno in the summer aswell, the only reason we eventually got him is because spurs couldnt get the deal done
