Looked really good today in the Georgia - Czechia game. Hadn't heard of him before since I rarely watch European football, but has seemingly made a big impression at Valencia, being voted the fans PotY last season (after coming 2nd the previous season).

At 6ft 6" and only 23, could he be set for a big transfer this Summer?

Looks a must-buy for anyone that's in the market for a new GK. Good player.

Predictably he’s been linked with Chelsea the last year or so. Maresca is said to want a specific type of keeper.

He is a good keeper. There were rumours last year of some top clubs monitoring him. Looks a top keeper in the making, probably will move soon.

He was the outstanding candidate for our De Gea replacement last year. Absolutely dominates his area on crosses, huge imposing figure in 1v1s, way faster and better reflexes than he has any right to have at his size. Downside is that he's probably around average or a little bit under with the ball at his feet.

I listened to a podcast with Petr Cech last season and he was raving about him. Called him Van Der Sar with athleticism - highlighted his positioning and reach.

Does Cech still have a role with Chelsea? If so, wouldn't be surprised to see him end up there.

Very underrated, very strong goal-keeper. He's had couple impressive seasons in Spain, not just an Euros phenomenon.

Probably not the style of keeper Ten Hag needs, but a top keeper for the right club, deserves to be at better club than Valencia, in my opinion

There were rumors of Bayern‘s interest two years ago but they seem to have found their heir to Neuer in Nübel.
Marmar‘s quality is no secret.

Newcastle want him.

Not qualifying for Europe probably stalls that though as Pope + Dubravka is comfortably good enough for a domestic season.

I assume Valencia are still in financial turmoil so you can get him for a decent price.

Sure we were tentatively linked with him 2/3 years back.

Valencia have signed Dimitrievski on a free from Rayo Vallecano so suggests Mamardashvili will be leaving at some point this summmer.

Top keeper. Fills you with confidence. Would have him in goal over Onana every time.

Yeah been watching him (mostly snippets, highlights etc) since his breakthrough at Valencia and he’s really impressed. The real only issue for me is that he’s not that great with ball at feet - but if you’re looking for a dominant old school type keeper - he would’ve been my absolute first choice, even above Oblak, considering their age.

Also, I’m probably a simpleton but give me a keeper that’s fantastic at goalkeeping first and foremost, then work on improving his ball playing ability. I think it’s much easier to “improv that way, then have someone great with ball at feet but have questionable goalkeeping technique. Others might disagree. You’d obviously ideally like to sign someone who’s equally great at both elements.

Having 2 keepers who you've signed for over 25m wouldn't be such a bad thing. Look at Arsenal. I doubt it will be a priority this summer though.

Downside is that he's probably around average or a little bit under with the ball at his feet.

And that's why he'll never be a better fit than Onana, either for us or any team looking to play possession-based football and to build out from the back

No. He plays ice hockey now

He's a giant as you said and is very good at actual goalkeeping. However he's ordinary with the ball and with top clubs tending to want ball playing goalkeepers he might not be the right fit for some big clubs and managers in the way they want to play. Thats the only drawback with him. If you are going to play the traditional way without expecting your goalkeeper to take loads of the ball, be calm when pressed and find good passes in the buildup then he'll be a solid goalkeeper

No it doesnt. He's an average keeper and will come in as cover, its far more likely Domenech is leaving as he barely played at all last season and now a new keeper is in.

Valencia will spend money on a new keeper if Mamadarshvili is leaving

Would be a steal for anyone who ends up with him if that's his usual level.

What a keeper, he should be the guy for us. Shame we blew a fortune on Onana

One of the best things about him is how often he catches balls that 95% of keepers would parry or push wide. Again very Van Der Sar-like.

He’s mint. The save at the weekend down low was fantastic but the one from Dalot that ended up not mattering was fantastic. He seems an excellent goalie.

What a save again just then. Keeper of the tournament so far.

He is ridiculous. He will be one of the best in a couple of years if he keeps going. The saves he makes consistently and almost no mistakes in his game. Plus his handling and calmness.

Impenetrable today. Easily the best individual performance of the group stage.

Is he good enough with his feet? plenty of beasty goalkeepers-shotstoppers. Streets will never forget Ochoa..

Is Onana? 50 games and not sure.
Onana is really great, just because he attempts too many and some dont work out, is not his mistakes. He cant have a passing accuracy of Scholes with poor players in defence to recieve a short pass and poor players up front. Yet he had some outrages passes to our strikers. Not sure why hes doubted. His short passing is excellent too, mistakes are to be expected for a learning team. His shotstopping is average though, do we want to go for the complete opposite?
