GIGGSY IDENTIFIED AS THE BOTTLER

Agreed, Leave him alone

Pick on some one your own size youse lot....

i think i am saddened to say that giggs was not playing well at all last nite. somehow i think it was not his fault as he was playing in a more central position. do u think ferguson is tinkling with the formation again? giggs is onli threatening if he if employed on the left hand side. otherwise he is useless!!!

There was a time, when Giggs was terrorising defences, after watching yesterdays match it seemes like a thing of the past.
If that is waht our definition of hunger is, we better be braced for UEFA cup football.
Lets just hope that it was a 'one off' performance.
FFS we played a 1000 times better against Parma. If we had played anything like we did that day yesterday, that Zag team would have been losing pretty badly..
Just what went wrong yesterday????

Tactics. We play well if given space to pass and if the opposition attack us, but if they pack the defense and close us down, we have no answer to it.

The problem is ofcource no one will give us space, and at the moment we don't seem to have the answer for it.

True. If compare to the team in 1999, now we no longer have the players to break a tight, packed defence.

Giggs is the only player we've got who can run at defenders, and he doesn't do that much anymore. Thats why there was such a big clamour for players like Duff, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. Veron tries to thread a pass through the defense, but if there are 5 at the back like last night, that is a hopeless tactic which just gives the ball away. Wing play would be better, getting to the touchline and cutting the ball back, sticking in crosses, or taking the defenders on and trying to drag them out of position, doing one two's etc. We're such a passing side that we've become a bit like Roy Evan's liverpool.

Pass and move it's the Man Utd groove? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

That Liverpool side had more flair and pace than we do. They did actually have the players to break defences, it's their own backline that was their problem.

A lot of this is inevitable when players are getting older, have won so much, can they really still be as hungry as a youngster, or someone like Ruud? IMO Ruud is now the best player we have, he's by far the hungriest, putting in a lot of work, even tackling back, prepared to go wide, run at defenders, always wants the ball and always prepared to shoot. It would be sound management to sell players when you've got their best out of them and before their value starts to really drop, and replace them with hungry, fast, determined players who are desperate to win trophies.

Problem is, where do you get these players and for how much? A few years ago we had a great bunch coming through the youth system. Where would we get good replacements now, without paying tens of millions for the likes of Dyer and Joe Cole.

i will love Giggsy ror ever ever no matter what he's going to be.

You mean players like Silva, Viana, Maccarone?

No, because I don't want a team full of foreign players.

It is time to send Giggs on one of those "rest" to resurrect his hunger in using his fantastic skills to take on his opponents. He has definitely lost that touch and in last night game, he kept drifting into the centre and was not trying at all to run at the opposing defenders. Maybe he is trying to avoid another injury? Time to bring in the Richardsons and Pughs as they will try their best and will not be pulling back as Giggs did last night. Looks like Paolo De Canio is needed after all.

Partly because when Beckham crosses the ball there is no Yorke to get his head on it, as in 1999. There is also no Peter Schmeichel to save our ass time and time again.

As for Keane, fine player that he is, better not leave OT. Because when he does, he'll torn apart by alot of supporters who chose to do the same with Paul Ince, Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Andre Kanchelskis. As long as he wears a red devil kit, he'll be supported ever more.

One answer is to pressurize them as much or more then they pressurize us. But, the players are too good for that!

teams are more defensive against us now.. and you'll notice that becks is marked more closely hence he doesn't get as many crosses in.
