:lol::lol::lol::lol: Classic.

olly you're needed in the ray wilkins thread - give us a head shot - maybe tony harrison.

Heh. That's great. Unbelievable that people were calling that "miss" as on a par with Torres'.

Come on, he only had de Gea in goal after all, it is not like there was a top keeper like Reina in goal or something. If de Gea saves it is a horrible miss
Get with the program Pogue!

Not really, since we lost possession shortly afterward. That pressure off the Chelsea players loitering in our final third again.

He could've accomplished the same (keeping the ball) by running with it, for instance. It's no big deal, but I can't pretend not to understand the frustrations of those around.

I find this very strange. I quite surprised that people are acting as if the frustration with that play is so outrageous. What pissed Evans off was that, he felt he had taken one player out by giving Carrick time, Evans I think feels like he also could have passed to the keeper and not try and go pass a man.

Thanks for the Carrick one Olly, could anyone possibly do one of Nani in the 2nd half when he shrugged off two the three challenges just past the halfway line? Gave me flashbacks of that Best goal against Chelsea when Harris tried to snap his ankle in half...

Annoys me the way that save is being dismissed as nothing more than a terrible miss from Ramires (although it was a terrible miss)

Look at De Gea's starting position. Just wide of the right hand post. Terrific feet to get the whole way across and make the save. No wonder Fergie was talking up his pace after the game.

We just have to deal with it, I guess.

It's pretty obvious that for whatever reason a significant section of the media have it in for the lad. They're hardly going to back up when he's doing well.

Can't say it doesn't piss me right off, though.

I think De Gea will be an absolutely brilliant keeper for you lot, but look at that particular situation from another perspective. Would you have been annoyed had he not saved that? Because given that Ramires hits the ball back towards the middle of the goal, I'd have been irritated if my keeper hadn't shown the desire to get back across and make some kind of effort to keep it out. Good save, but one he should be making in my view.

It was a very good bit of defending from Cole. Berbatov was unbalanced and reaching for an overhit pass, yet still got it on target. Possibly could have done better but the Torres comparisons were laughable.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the De Gea save from Ramires. Agreed on both misses.

Got a terrific cheer at the game.

Olly, I don't suppose the Carrick backpass gif could run up to where De Gea had to kick the ball out of play could it? (or maybe in 2 parts if it's too big?)

:smirk:

Evra didn't do it this match, it was Young who did a little juggling then an over head kick. I remember distinctly becuase Andy Grey mentioned how he was always responsible and did the right thing (or something along those lines) when defending.
