First game and you already want to get rid of it. It will take time to get better. If you are just a little patient, you will see it become better. Its a learning curve.

Have to wonder if that score would’ve been any different if the professional lines people were just allowed to do their job. Maybe the flag goes up on one of those but stays down on the other. Same result, but now we’ve made this system into some sort of god.

Relax. VAR called a player being offside because he was factually offside, and they retook the penalty because of some annoying shite that they're trying to stamp out and this is the only way to do it, players will learn how to stay on the line until it's actually taken as they were bending the rules because they knew they wouldn't be punished before. Now they will, every time.

Its as fair as you can get. If you don't like it maybe its because it loss some of the old drama from ref controversial decision.

fecking VAR enforcing rules. Millenials ruin everything.

VAR really is going to suck if it's disallowing goals like Jesus' second and making penalties be retaken like Aguero's

The system is there to greatly reduce the errors. No more offside goals. Think Drogba scoring at Old Trafford in 2010, could've been an extra title for United if that game went differently from that point. Obviously many games it won't change much, but at the end of the day, no longer will people be able to point to a shit refereeing error as the reason they lost. They can say it's harsh, but harsh can still be correct, which is what matters.

I am not saying everything is perfect without it. But I firmly believe that watching a game of football is about great feelings and VAR dampens these thus ruining the experience.
No, I’m saying that match had unbelievable great feelings heightened by VAR. The goal that was then disallowed at the end was the same as a last minute goal.

Sorry bud. It’s always balanced out over the course of a season. This is some draconian bullshit.

It makes the game sterile. Imagine not jumping for joy like a tosser and doing so only when the screen says goal!

This sounds like a S*n headline.

Nothing wrong with VAR. The sooner football is brought in line with the other sports to reflect a fair result the better.

Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. Some people will love VAR, some will hate it. It’s going to be a divider of opinions for sure.

It is too anal. Sterling was about 1cm offside for the assist to Jesus. The penalty retake was also ridiculous.

Calm down. It was correct.

It's not fecking hard for a keeper to follow the rules on a pen. And offside is offside.

It really hasnt, that's a load of shit. Why would you want more refereeing errors? The reffing was atrocious in the past, this will help. Offside goals are always ridiculous as they straight up shouldnt happen. Now they wont.

In the end any form of Var will get most decisions right but will significantly reduce the entertainment value of the sport

The far and away most popular sport in the world has always had them. Never slowed the growth. Changing the viewing experience in stadium and out will do so.

There's a lot more that will put people off football than correct decisions

Nah again, this is bullshit. Just look at City vs Spurs in the CL last year. Couldnt have possibly had more drama, and VAR played a big role in that.

All of you fecking grandpas will be fine. Get with the times. Technology helping get the correct decisions.

PL refs are shit, but VAR is brilliant. If you want to make the game fair, this is the way to go. People will get used to it eventually, but I'm looking forward to years of moaning, kicking and screaming until then.

It obviously doesn't balance out over the course of a season. Why would it? Doesn't even make sense.

Doubt it’s the grandpas. I’ve had about 12 friends just text me how shitty this is. All under 35.
