Gavi for Free in the Summer

I think a lot of people would be surprised watching 5 full barcelona games. He's actually not that good, reminds me a little of when januzaj first broke through and the hype he had for us. As soon as the opposition learned his game, he became less impactful. 1 goal and 2 assists this season in the league from 25 starts, thats a pretty woeful return for a player who's given more attacking responsibility than some of the other midfielders.

Not his choice, La Liga unregistered him from the league

Of course it's going to be his choice.

The contract extension was cancelled by the league due to the local FFP but that doesn't really mean anything and provided they just get rid of some players in the summer they'll have more wiggle room in their budget to register him again if the player really wants to stay. His wages surely aren't that big for it to be a huge problem in the off-season, even if they're restricted from making the deal right now.

Any move to another club will require the player to be fully on board and going by the fact he just signed an extension with Barca I would say the chances of him wanting to go are slim, though it's possible this latest fiasco will have made him change his mind. One thing's for sure is that there will be many clubs whispering sweet things in his ears in the coming weeks to try and persuade him into joining after the season now that he'd be available on a freebie.

An 18yo player is not the finished article, who would have thought?

Being a regular starter for Barcelona and Spain NT since the age of 17 is no joke. The lad is clearly talented and just being able to hold his own at that level at such a young age is impressive but more importantly the hype comes from the thinking he still has tons of room for development like is the case with most young players.

Maybe he'll turn out great or maybe he's just an early bloomer who will later be surpassed by many of his peers while Gavi himself struggles to develop further but either way I don't see how getting this guy would be a bad move by any club if landing him on a free transfer was a possibility, though like I wrote above I have my doubts about his willingness to actually move anywhere if there's any way the contract situation at Barcelona can be solved before the start of next season.

For some reason, I just can't see him or Pedri leaving...... So the bigger question is - Who will? And Where will they go?

Barca HAVE to remove some players. Hopefully FDJ to Utd is one of them finally.

Agreed. He's talented for his age, but he's lucky that people seem to bundle him in with Pedri when they are rating him - as if they are a package deal - and Pedri is so brilliant that he makes Gavi seem better than he is.

He's also a little diving shite, who seems to also foul everyone too. Go figure.

Pedri is absolutely miles clear.

The player obviously wants to stay so he is not available. If in the end he has to leave he will probably go to Man City to play in a similar system.

Even if Barca reduces his wage and throws him in B team, he would stay there.

Barca is like a cult. Their players become obsessed or something when they sign for them. Serious voodoo shit.

Yeah he's cult Barca just like De Jong

I mean, he loves a tackle yet never gets praised for anything on the ball, is he more Nigel De Jong than Frenkie De Jong?

From what I've seen of Barca games this season (not many, only a few), Pedri is the way better player.
