Anybody have any idea about this lad??? Read impressive review about him,and Bologna are willing to sell this classy playmaker.

He is a good player and I believe will be an excellent signing for Liverpool, the sort of players they need to be signing not the shit that they got under Kenny.

Still those players will ensure mid table mediocrity for some time so well done Kenny.

20 british pounds or 20m liverpool pounds?

I know this offers nothing whatsoever but I signed him for £5m on FM for Everton and he was immense.

Me too. Eventually I sold him though because he was getting too big for his boots. He went to Spurs and played for 'Arry, so it's fair to say I had the last laugh.

Straight into the first team he will go, it's whether he will replace Downing with Suarez on the other side and Carroll up top or replace Suarez, with Suarez up top.

Scored one of the goals of the season in Serie A.

If that was a Serie A goal of the season contender then the league much be worse than I thought. Just patethic goalkeeping.

Not saying he's not a good player, mind.

20 million pounds though?

Used to play for my team here but only caught him briefly before he left. Back then he was played as a winger who would drift centrally. Good player, but seems to have developed well at Bologna.

He is being phased into the Uruguay squad as a playmaker, seeing as Forlán may be getting on for 2014. Nowhere near his level of performance at WC and Copa America but he was only getting few minutes on the pitch.

Last game he came on very early and put in a very composed performance. I thought it was madness to sub Forlán with the game drawn but within five he shut me up. Not a magic player or anything of the sort but he suddenly made the midfield tick in a way it hadn't for some time now.

High hopes for the lad, hope he doesn't get his development stunted with that shower. A couple of days back the media here were saying Bologna had valued him at 20M euros so I guess it's more like 17-18M quid, which is not a bad deal at all.

Twitter going around that he will have a medical at the dippers on Monday and will move for 19.4m

There's only one person who's saying that and it looks like another self styled ITK's.

Wonder if he'll be as amazingly successful as Liverpool's other signings from Serie A in recent years

My guess is Tottenham, they were in for Oscar and missed out on him.

He is a very good young talent, I predict who will be playing at the CL level in a few years.

I thought he was a dead cert for Liverpool?

Thats the problem with these threads. Like the Mata to Barcelona one last year, or the Cazorla to Arsenal one this year. People dont post sure fire sources so we get these threads where we're told someone is going somewhere, we speculate about how well he'll do and if he's worth the money, and then he doesnt go there.

If his agent is here to negotiate a move I wonder who else would be in for him bar Liverpool, weren't City linked?

Gaston Ramirez's agent arrives in England for Liverpool talks
Liverpool have moved a step closer to landing Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez after his agent arrived in England for talks.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add some much needed width to his new-look team next season, and has turned to Ramirez after baulking at Fulham's £10 million asking price for Clint Dempsey.

A fast, agile and elegant left winger who can play up front, Ramirez is rated as one of the finest players in Italy, and has been tracked by Barcelona, AC Milan and the two Manchester clubs in the last six months.

However, it appears that Liverpool, who held initial talks over a deal with Bologna last month, have jumped the queue, with the players agent arriving in England this week to sort out a transfer to the Premier League:
'Gaston is ready to leave Italy - so much so I am in England for talks with a Premier League club,' agent Pablo Betancourt told Mercato.
'He is one of the most important players in Uruguray, so there are no shortage of offers.'

Inter Milan and Tottenham are two other clubs believed to have significant interest in Ramirez, but neither are willing to stump up the £15 million Bologna want for the 21-year-old.

That clears the way for Liverpool to get their man, and they are hopeful they land the player in the next fortnight, despite the transfer being complicated, as Ramirez will be on duty for Uruguay during the London Olympics.

The former Penarol ace, who is contracted to Bologna until 2016, has already set his heart on a move to Anfield.

Baulking at 10M for Dempsey? He is twice the player most of their 15-35M signing are

His agent is a complete tosser BTW. He got a teenager signing for Roma even when it was clear the contract situation meant he was not going to be able to play officially for 18 months. Basically convinced the kid and his family to move to Rome and refuse to go back to Nacional. Nacional didn't budge and instead of agreeing a reduced fee for a wantaway player just left him with no FIFA clearance.

He made a lot of money though.

So that article states that United,City,Barca,Inter,Spurs and Milan are all interested yet Ramirez might end up at a midtable English club? antohan mentioned his agent being dodgy I bet his agent made up the stories about the top teams being interested in his client hoping one team will swallow the bait and sign Ramirez and of course that club seems to be Liverpool...
