Gareth Bale

It'd be great to see him in the PL again and just to play. His most productive years came as a second striker type player with a more central/free position at Spurs before he left for Spain.

Jose would have to figure out how best to accommodate Son, Kane, Dele Alli, Moura, and Bale. However, they'll be starved of service from central midfield as Winks, Sissoko, Lo Celso, whoever don't possess the requisite passing from deeper positions.

I'd actually play Son - Kane - Berjwin with Bale behind Kane, thus benching Dele and Moura. But again, the two central midfielders aren't that enterprising. Including Bale would be terrific for Jose and the counter attack.

Time will tell, IMO he has been a much better footballer than Sanchez ever was.

In terms of the profile of the deal.

Bale has been a part timer for a couple of seasons now, and was injury prone before that.

I am not disputing his past quality but think this is a desperately poor signing for Spurs.

I was praying it was nonsense when United were linked and, thankfully, it seems that was the case.

Its options, I would have Son - GLC - Bale.

I know its going to be different from a United fans perspective, but if he comes back fit and hungry its a feck yes from me!
I was all for him joining us on loan because there was no financial threat to us and we had a superstar in the making on the wing but i just cant see how giving Dele away and taking on his financial burden works out for you. Especially if hes a player you start to rely on

Thats toally fair enough, but quite honestly I dont really care, on his day he is still a worldie. Clearly for the past 2 seasons he hasn't quite felt much love from RM. I dotn expect much else than this to be shat on from other teams fans .

Good on you if you’re happy.

Dele, like the kid and want him to do well but hes been shit, for what ever reason for 2 seasons.

Looks like Spurs fanbase is quite happy about this?

Bit different to the United fans here. 2/3rd of United fans on the caf, including myself, think he is a crock who just wants to play golf and collect his 600k/week.

Why would I be expecting the worst, being a football fan is shit if you cant have dreams and expectations.

It is called being realistic. Worst would be thinking you end up with Bale's garbage contract and have to sell Kane in 12 months to finance it .

If Jose does continue with a Hojberg and Sissoko type central midfield...very disciplined and workman like with some steel, then the team is setup to counter and the forward players will take up positions in pockets of space with Kane the central figure during the transitions and then around/inside the opposition's box when possible.

We are happy of course we are, we have no idea how he will work out but surely better to have hope than be a miserable cnut forever?

Spurs really buying him or is it just a loan deal? Anything beyond a loan is foolish.

I know I said earlier that I’d be happy for United to get him on loan for a year but it just suddenly dawned on me that he’s washed up shite. Glad he’s going to Spurs.

   I dont think you were ever in for him, and I don't think this is us gassuping you, I am just happy to have him back... if it happens.

He's a Spurs legend, he'll be motivated and do well for them. I think half the forum called this one though

But he cant be swapped for a player that Madrid were willing to let go for free at one stage?
What does Bale do to the wage structre? This is a higgl risky move. Without Dele you are us pre Bruno. No invention through the middle and unable to get the ball forward quick enough

This is what I think, look at his injuries over recent history... they are more niggles and "problems" rather than serious injury. Anyway like I said time will tell.

No way his agent said what he just said and he turns up at a different club other than Spurs.
Also no way Levy agrees to a loan and pays his massive wages, especially in this environment. Going to be interesting to see what the deal looks like...

Unless Sancho is going to happen I do feel United are missing out not taking him on loan, the reward is far greater than the risk for someone like Bale
