Because the older generation seem to have fecked the economy up some of us lot may feel the need to be a wii bit careful on how much we spend. I certainly can't afford to bring in games by the x box load anyway. So what games will you be looking out to get and playstation on?

PS3:
Killzone 2 - looks amazing
Gran Turismo - hopefully it will be out this year
Massive Action Game - only heard about this recently - 256 multiplayer online!??
Uncharted 2.

Disclaimer: First person shooter to start with any console war shite gets put on e's thick list. Well as long as he agrees.

Resident Evil 5 - Above all else
Halo 3: ODST - Can't go wrong with Halo

Ghostbusters - A bit skeptical about this game, but it's made by Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd and features the rest of the cast from the classic movie.

PS3:
Killzone 2
Gran Turismo 5 if we see it in 09
MAG
F1 2009 by codemasters but maybe on PC
The Godfather 2
Final Fantasy's

I'm looking forward to finding cheap copies of Fallout 3, Smackdown v Raw 09, Call of Duty WaW, and GTA IV to name but a few. Haven't been following upcoming releases all that closely tbh.

Xbox360 - Skate 2, Res Evil 5 thats the only ones at the minute.

Prototype
Mafia 2

Both sandbox games (GTA style open world), the former is a superhero game, the latter set in 50's America

There is the GTA xbox live expansion as well.

Forgot about Prototype, saw a trailer recently it looks pretty cool

Prototype is interesting in regards to the PS3, as there is another very similar type of game, at least on the ideas level called "inFAMOUS" done by Sucker Punch. How they stack up against one another we'll have to see.

BioShock 2! - multiplatform.

Mass Effect 2 - 360 (might scrape a Q4 2009 release, I hope at least)

Alan Wake - 360 (interesting survival horror concept)

GoW III might come out this year, nobody knows, but if it does, are they going to stack Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted 2, and GoW III all together at the end of the year? Not to mention GT5 supposedly being ready by then. This year was basically Motorstorm 2, Resistance 2, and LBP. My guess for GoW III would be early Spring 2010 in the same slot Killzone 2 is getting this year.

Does that thing actually exist? I don't know, but it's all very wishy washy. What is even known about it on a concrete level?

There's no release date yet as far as I know. Xbox.com classifies it under its Upcoming Games list.

Wii: .....

Pikmin.
The Conduit.

There is a game for MadWorld for Wii that looks interesting.

I have hope for these titles. Also, some balance board related games would be fun. I quite enjoy wii fit.

Halo Wars anyone?

Are bioshock and mass effect worth playing or are they just standard shooters?

What is Alan Wake about?

Halo Wars looks very interesting. I haven't played a RTS game since owning the 360, and bungie know what they're doing.

BioShock and Mass Effect are both very highly rated games.

Alan Wake is apparently about a horror writer who lives in a small town. He finds himself in some sort of mystery/puzzle solving situation, and has to solve the case. It apparently has a very vast world that changes appropriately through day and night and show signs of the seasons.

Shenmue meets Eternal Darkness kind of thing?

PLayed the demo of the new LOTR game, hack and slash but could be fun online.

Looking forward to RE5.

Alan Wake was supposed to be released 2 years ago.

a game no ones mentioned that im looking forward to is Heavy Rain

I mentioned it. Looks great, really liked Fahrenheit.

But will those releases actually hurt GoW sales at all? GoW is almost a cult game, and you would think it will sell in huge numbers no matter what other games come out next to it?

Operation Flashpoint 2

It's coming out on Xbox and PS3 as well though which isn't too good a sign

Looking forward to Empire: Total War as well

There is only one game that anyone needs to be getting.

I'm actually quite worried about this, never have I anticipated a game so much and I can see it completely taking over all of my studies. The game just looks and sounds unreal though.

Maybe it wouldn't hurt GoW III sales, but maybe it would hurt the sales of the other titles? Most people can't afford to go shelling out for 4 or 5 full priced games at the same time can they?

I'm not trying to be clever or anything, but aren't those rival companies? And why would they care about anyone else but themselves?
