Television Game of Thrones TV Series | Season 2 | NO book talk!!

Ending was too sudden otherwise it was fantastic

IMO, that was the best episode yet. Epic. Also the way it ended and the song at the end were fitting.

Damn, this was better than most high budget movie battles. Fantastic.

So frustrating that even though I live in Canada and the show is on right now, that I have to wait until tomorrow to watch it because I don't have HBO on my tv.

There is more than one way to watch a series.

The song at the end - epic!

Well, I'm glad to see my thoughts on battle tactics weren't wrong, Tywin did take his army to join King's Landing for the big battle! I was worried Tywin would die fighting Rob, he's such a good character it would be a shame to lose him this early in the show.

I'm sure HBO spent a ton on that episode, for a TV show the battle was amazing. It did seems to end a bit abruptly, it would have been nice if they could have made two episodes out of it.

Oh, and compliments to them for not taking us to Qarth for 2 minutes at the end to see Dani pick her nose and have Ser Jorah ask if he can eat it or something else as pointless.

Tyrion leading the armed attack was great, his shaming the soldiers to fight was brilliant.

The battle wasn't really going to be shown, in the original script. We would get more of a "inside" view. Luckily, they asked HBO for more money, and got a fair chunk extra to use on the episode. And it paid off.

The song at the end - epic!

And who are you, the proud lord said,
that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat,
that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red,
a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord,
as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall,
with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

;)

I actually got goosebumps during this episode. So awesome.

I know, it's just by the time it gets uploaded on the Internet I'm usually asleep.
And yeah absolutely epic episode from start to finish.

Good thing they asked HBO for more money for that episode eh?

Hilariously gruesome at times, highlights being Stannis chopping the guys head in half, and the brick falling on the guys face.

I thought they'd pussy out again on the battle scenes, wasn't really bothered.

So pleased they didn't, epic episode, almost better than I imagined it.

It's great that GRRM has gotten to write the best episode of this season and the best episode of last season. At least we know what the best episode of season 3 will be now!

It's a song from the book, The Rains of Castamere, no idea who sings it. It belongs to a House that I shan't mention

They explain it earlier in the episode (when Bronn and the Lannister men were singing the end) and refer to it "the Lannister song", so no need to disguise who the song belongs to.

Joffrey is such a whiny little shit. I hate him. Fantastic episode, Tyrion is the man.

I didn't expect them to do that episode justice but bloody hell that was fantastic. Every second of it was captivating, I may even have to give it a second watch before next weeks.

The best part for me wasn't even the theatrical aspects such as the battle but the further exploration of the characters. Jofferey running away like a little bitch while Tyrion rallied the troops showed how weak and strong the characters are respectively.

My favourite thing about this show is that it's not black and white at all. The Lannaster family for example are by all accounts a bunch of odious little cnuts, but Tyrion is just a legend. Even the noble Stark family has Sansa who is a bit of a bitch. She clearly only cares about herself. Not to mention that mummy Stark has lost it now. There's no 'good side vs. bad side' just side x vs. side y vs. side w and the respective characters within each camp. It's brilliant.

I meant it more so to the actual house, but yeah, it's not really necessary to disguise.
