Game 39: Croatia vs Portugal

Every time I think I've just watched the worst game of the tournament, another one happens.

What a boring game. Skip the extra time and the penalties. Just flip a coin and get it over and done with.

I really like him. He's only a kid but I think he'd become a more attacking version of Essien. I wasted so many hours watching Benfica's game thinking he's ours! Well that's life I guess.
I'll be interested to see if he can live up to the expectations. I for one hadn't heard of him before he was signed, so I don't have any idea what to expect actually - but he's looking alright ;)

This has probably been the worst match of the tournament, which is some achievement.

If there's anything he has to work on it would be that. He does misplace a few passes. Bright future ahead of him though. Really fun player to watch.

To me it looks like he is mostly making the right decision on where to pass, but being a bit sloppy with it.Much better than a player making the wrong decision in the first place. Only watched him in the Euros though, so small sample.

The same ammounts of kicks in the box by croatian players. Bit rich talking about the ref

You had 1 penalty claim, which was Strinić kick on Nani. As for stamps, Cristiano had 1, Gomes had 1 for which he should've been sent of, now this and I'm sure there was 1 more just can't remember who was it so please be quiet about the ref.

Sanches is a talented player, has great natural abilities, but his passing is terrible.

A clear penalty claim, agreed by everyone. Those plays are yellow cards at most. I suggest you pipe down because the major play in this game was in your favour. Don't act like croatian players are acting like fairies as well. That Strinic kick was as bad as the stamps and INSIDE the box.

Sanches has been promising but has fecked up numerous counters from missing such simple passes.

I bet he will improve that at Bayern. He has been very good since coming on.

His decision making and positioning also still need a lot of work. But then again, his professional career started only 8 months ago

The lack of quality in this tournament has been shocking for the most part.

If we thought group stage and its 90 minutes borefests were bad, now we get the 120 minutes version

3 utterly abysmal, pointless matches today the whole euros has been gash so far

Your midfield is very strong. So if he doesn't get enough game time which I won't be surprised if it's to happen then he could be a wasted talent there. Not to mention, Carlo hasn't showed faith in young players much in the past.
Having said that, I hope he becomes the player everyone expect him to be.

UEFA should introduce a rule that every time a team doesn't score in 90 mins, all the players are fined a weeks worth of wages and the coach gets a touchline ban.

Very good the Pepe/Fonte pairing. The one i wanted from the start

20 fouls and you have only 1 yellow which wasn't given for stamping on people, it's clear ref favours us. Strinić almost killed Nani, brutal attack, deadly like

Portugal are going to get to the Quarter-Finals not winning a game at this rate.
