Gabriel Barbosa and Thiago Maia

Can we sign Thiago Maia just cuz of his name. It rolls of the tongue beautifully.

no need for Gabigol
Already have enough youngsters... and unhappy ones. Pereira seems to be the latest

If he's as talented as they say he will fit in nicely next to Martial and Rashford. We don't really have that much young talent in attack.

Why aren't Chelsea in for Gabigol? They are desperate need of wide forward/suporting striker.

Gabigol or Jesus who is more talented? Any brazilian caf members?

This transfer doesn't make much sense. Would prob share game time with Rasher while both would need games to improve. The papers are running with us bidding £30m for Barbosa, that's a big increase on Leicester's £21.5m bid.

If we do buy him we should loan him straight back to Santos for the season.

That way it doesn't hurt Rashfords game time.

We aren't interested, just 1 of many links to players we always seem to have. Seems more like his agent trying to drum up interest. He isn't good enough IMO.

Never really understood how people judge who has more potential.

If you know both players and that's a big "if", you can estimate who has the flaws that can be fixed with more ease, you can also look at where they are in their respective development. But at the end of the day you are only guessing.

Won't we just loan him back out though? Always worth making a punt on a youngster every so often.

Ball touch highlights of recent international friendlies/Copa America.

Don't get your hopes up- sounds like rubbish.

Can't see us signing another attacker even if we let someone like Ashley Young leave

Mkhitaryan is a right winger.
Yes he is he can also play through the center but I'd prefer to see Pogba there with Mkhitaryan on the right.

Martial-----Pogba-----Mkhitaryan

Then we have Lingard as back up who has been playing well i just dont see the need for this guy especially for such a high price when he would be stuck in our reserves.

A signing like this would make a lot of sense if Mourinho were trying to build a team that can be competitive in the Champion's league over the next 3-5 years. Thinking long term, Rooney, Ibra, Carrick, Young and Mata will probably be out of the door in the next 2-3 years. So in 3 years, you can imagine a team like:

---------------------De Gea (28)----------
TFM (21)----Bailly (25)----Smalling (29)----Shaw (24)
---------------------Herrera (30)------------
----------------------------Pogba (26)---------
----------Mkhitaryan (30) ----------------
----Rashford (21)------Barbosa (22)----------Martial (23)

We'd also have Lingard (26), Blind (29), Depay (25), Fellaini (31)

If Barbosa turned out to be at the same level as, say, Martial, this would have the makings of a team that I think could be dominant in England and Europe. We're probably also going to have to buy a striker at some point, so it might as well be now. Anticipating for the future like this and bringing the players through now can only be to our advantage as the more they know each other, the better the team will be.

----------Gabigol----------

Martial-----Ibra------Mhki

-----Pogba-------Maia------

hmm...not sure we can fit them all in :p

Edit: Actually

----------Ibra----------

Martial----------Gabigol

-----Pogba-----Mhki-----

-----------Maia-----------

Rashford forgotten already

Looks good Herrera as the holding cm is a bit minging
What's the crack with barbosa is this worth getting my Muppet juices going again?
Just got over the pogba deal

Yeah, maybe Herrera could be replaced in that role by a new purchase. I'm also not sure about Barbosa. I'd never heard of him before today. I'm just making the point that a signing like this (young striker who can grow with Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Lingard, etc...), while maybe not ideal for our current squad, makes a lot of sense from a planning perspective.

Can't we just get to see and try to bond with the players already at the club? A little tired of the transfer-mania as of late.

His preferred position is behind the striker. He just ended up playing right midfield for BVB.

He's a very good goalscorer.
He made a name for himself as a winger, that's where he's performed the best. Why change that?
