Gabri Veiga - Celta Vigo CM

His passing is a bit too ambitious at times and ends up giving it away rather needlessly
Bah. We’ve got a whole team of that. We need someone who treats the ball with care

So not a central midfielder at all then.

Well he's been coached in Spain so you'd hope he knows a little more about being responsible and setting the tempo than latter day Stevie G did. Ten Hag would likely be a good coach to teach him about it too, along with tutelage from Casemiro and Eriksen. Who knows though, could just be a knock-off Bruno for all I know.

Was by whoscored's stats in the Feb team of the month in the "top 5 leagues" with his 4 goals and 1 assist in 4 matches in the league that month. Very good

Looks to be a Bellingham alternative for a lot of people, ourselves, Liverpool and Madrid being linked with talks. I think Celta are begging for someone to come and pay the 40m release clause.

Seems a very reasonable release clause

Two superb goals tonight against Barca to keep them in the division. Second one was particularly superb.

Isn’t he off to. Newcastle
Lot of people sniffing around him, relatively low release clause and I think Celta are very much pushing for him to be the big sale this summer.

Liverpool linked heavily too.

Is he a playmaker? If yes we should really consider him as the 2nd CM.

He would compete for a place with Fernandes, not sure it would be beneficial for both parties to sign him.

Looks like he may be Mount's replacement. I remember us being interested a few months back.

Don’t need him. Just give Chuku game time if this is the sort of profile we’re trying to sign.

I thought chuku plays as a number 8 1/2 or 10 (e.g., most advance in a midfield 3). Gabi can play more of an inverted wide attacker like mount. I don't believe chuku is effective in that role, while Gabi is and is also left footed. It gives you depth in that right attacking role. Right now you only have madueke that plays in that position? Gabi could be a decent backup to him or even starter

------ Caicedo (lavia/Casadei) - Enzo(Santos)
--Madueke (Gabi) - Nkunku(chuku) - Sterling(Mudryk)
---------------------------------Oshimen

He looks like the sort of player that someone like City, Bayern or Real would pick up then see if they can float. With a 40 mil release clause he looks like a pretty good project signing, and given some of the attributes he is showing ie taking the ball under preasure and being able to evade/travel with the ball looks like he could be useful.

6ft seemingly so probably 5ft 10 but from what I’ve seen looks strong can stand up to tackles and doesn’t seem to mind doing a bit of defending. Pace, fancy feet in a midfielder if he can pass and is willing to give others passing options then could only be a good thing. Sign me up.

Not seen him play properly but his YT highlights are weird. Seems very good at carrying the ball with a last min touch round players, but not much of his passing and ball playing.

Wonder if we’ll start looking at home now Mount deal is dead. Looks a very good player, who Ten Hag would improve, release clause is also good for the current crazy market…

He’s probably 10th on our list so no surprise Liverpool want him to lowballing cheap skates.

He can carry the ball quite good, got a good first touch and a decent shot on him. Could be a wildcard move this.

Gabri Veiga is right footed, mate.

Wouldn't say it's dead if you read between lines

if this was us people would be saying why we're targeting a different profile to Declan Rice.
That's because people like to pretend they know more than the manager about how we should and how he wants us to play

After getting Kovacic there going for another ball carrying type midfielder.

Be no midfielders left with profile we need after Mount for us to get.

Are we going to get left behind this window?

Yes.. did you honestly think it would be any different? We're sat on our asses as usual

Yes, it looks like we will likely get left behind unless a new owner is in place by the start of August. I'm expecting us to sign a GK, CM and striker but after that i'm not sure what we'll happen.

Because Pep has shown he can coach players into different roles. ETH hasnt yet.

He's been here for 1 season so not sure how he's meant to have proved that. That aside, you're wrong - Luke Shaw was outstanding at CB this season. Bruno played well multiple times on the right.

Erik ten Hag has shown that he can coach players to adapt to change and develop them whilst being under financial constraints at Ajax. Players like Frenkie de Jong became first team regulars under him at the age of 20. Overmars brought in a DM like Alvarez who wasn't great technically but EtH improved him and made it work. And the way he switched strategy after losing De Jong and Schone and making up the short fall by progressing play via the fullbacks, CBs and GK. And Luke Shaw in the season just gone is another example of his ability to coach at the highest level.

Guardiola's blueprint is a Dutch concept that was brought to him by Cruyff via Michels.

ffs....why not pay this kids release clause and stop messing about with targets that will cost double and be a pain in the arse to get?

His stats and highlights paint a picture of a very strange player. He has pace, goes past players for fun and scores a lot while he doesn't do much defensively and his passing stats make McTominay look like Pirlo.

He looks a bit like if Salah was inexplicably being played at centre mid every game.

We made three bids for Mount, offered DDG reduced wages and moved Iqbal on. Hardly sitting around.
