If Saudi are involved, we should ask for something over £30m. Fabinho went for £40m and he’s cack.
 
What's the deal with Fred? He was completely erased from preseason not featuring in any match. I'm not even sure if he traveled with the squad.

Rumors have slowed down so maybe he'll stay? I don't think the relationship with ten Hag will be good as he's make it clear that he doesn't rate Fred.
 
It’s unbelievable we don’t have any updates on Fred. Something along the lines of “Fred will surely leave” that is repeated every few days is not an update
 
So 30 M offers rejected for Maguire and McTominay, good chance higher offers arrive.

Best offer for Fred so far 6 or 8 M…. Maybe we just give him away for free with the other two.

Pity we can’t find Fred fans like some on here in other clubs!

I don't think he is staying and the relationship is fine from what has been reported.

Fred knew he was going into the last year of his deal and the club had made no moves to extend his contract, despite his 50+ appearances under ETH last year they were mostly as a sub and he wanted to start. He made clear that he wanted to secure his future in terms of a longer term contract and to be a starter wherever he was playing and he spoke to the manager before the off season began. I am pretty certain he was excluded because both sides had agreed to part ways and he has been working out at Carrington whilst his agent does his stuff, it is all good.
 
He is gone and understandably. I am one of those that really like Fred and has always appreciated his strengths. If used correctly he is a real asset, even for a club like ours.

However, it is also a truth that we need changes in the team to build for the future. If we need to get a few dollars and save his wages for the last twelve months to finance a potential acquisition of Amrabat or a player similar to him then there is no need to hold into him. This is even more true if ETH has plans to give Mainoo, Gore or Hannibal some playing time

In term of potential fee, unless we get an offer from SA then I won’t expect more than €10m for him and to be honest given his wage, his status in the team and all the times he has been there 100% on the field, we should sell him and let him move and continue his career somewhere he can play most games…
 
Loved him despite his shortcomings.
Always gave 100% and put in some brilliant performances. Wish him all the best
 
I like him, but also agree that we need to move on. He's a likeable guy. We need players with Fred's energy but who are also better on the ball and can give us more. A bit mad to think that Fred, McTominay and VDB are all leaving in one window. That's really positive going forward, tbh.

Still think McTominay could stay due to our valuation potentially scaring off West Ham

I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll reach a middle-ground with West Ham and get a deal sorted. We're just haggling over the exact price and I'd be surprised if United were to let this one slip over a few million. He's not a player that's going to feature largely in our plans for next season. I'd expect the inevitable price will slightly less than we'd be hoping for, but more than enough to justify his sale.
 
I really like him but the team obviously needs freshening up if it is to progress. The manager has had a good look at him and knows who he wants going forward. I rate the manager really highly and believe in his vision. I do think Fred is a far better player than McT or Donny and I would rather see either leave before Fred but I’m excited to see a talented manager get the team he wants.

I doubt its a personal problemThe manager is simply trying to lower the average age of the midfield i think so they dont all go over the hill at once. Of the over 30's he's the lowest quality so he's been singled out for moving on.
 
I was hoping he was going to form a great partnership with Casemiro in midfield for us (given they've played together a fair bit in the national team) but it never materialised. EtH certainly didn't seem to have an inclination towards giving that any more opportunities than he did, so he's obviously behind others in the squad so it's not surprise he's going.
 
I like Fred a lot. But that fecking Leeds match at Old Trafford ... what a shit show.
 
I feel a bit sheepish and embarrassed that we could be collecting over £100m for Maguire, Fred and McTominay. It feels a little bit naughty. I would have been happy with £50m for all 3.

£100m? We aren’t getting that.

£80m tops. And that will be amazing.
 
So it seems definitive that he's going, but where? Fulham was really hot at the start of the window, but has gone quiet, Galatasary have submitted bids but too low, and there's been lots of talk of Saudi, but no bid as far as I'm aware. Do we actually know where he's going?
 
We’d better be getting more than 6m for him, otherwise we may as well keep him and let him run his deal down.
