The amount of ground he must cover is ridiculous, especially at that intensity

Very strong spell in the 2nd half, winning possession high up the pitch. Assist for Rashford's goal, rather wasted another good situation with a shot wide from near the edge after he'd won the ball, when might have been more sensible to pass.

wow awfully generous. And i only saw the one quick replay but he clearly moves his arm out towards the ball and makes contact to change the trajectory of the ball. Ive seen those given before and had roles been reversed guaranteed people be yelling that shouldve been a pk

Nah, these are very rarely given. He is right next to the player who headers the ball. The arms aren't even that far out. I would say that is quite a natural position for the move.

Great performance. Deserves credit and this performance was against probably the most inform team in europe.

Motm with Rashford. Was a monster today. Just a different player when he has that solidity behind him.

That second half performance was sensational. He was feasting on Gavi and De Jong

First half was scary, and then he grew into the game. Defo much better away from our box

Awful for the goal though there’s no way he should be marking Alonso. Great game apart from that.

How does he go from being shocking in the first half, to outstanding in the second half? Like what can ETH possibly say to him at halftime that would result in such a switch in performance?
"Fred, I thought I told you to not play shit?"
"Ohhhh, don't play shit. I thought you said... alright, no worries. That's my bad."

The ref absolutely had it in for him today, even more than the rest of the team. Gave at least three (arguably four) fouls against him for perfectly good tackles, and then didn't give two fouls to him when Barca blatantly fouled him.

In saying that the hand at the end could easily have been a penalty, although it would have been a harsh one.

MOTM after what was let's be honest a pretty poor first half

He’s mad. Never perfect, but needed in these games.

There can’t be many better midfielders than Fred when it comes to turnovers in the opposition half.

MOTM for me again
He Was amazing
We need him to play like this next week and in the final against Newcastle

He played 90 minutes in last 5 games and will start vs Leicester with Casemiro suspended which will be his 6th game in a row. I wonder if Sabitzer gets the start vs Barca in return leg so Fred gets some rest for Cup Final.

We got good Fred and bad Fred tonight. Ropey first half, very good in the second.

Does he have a Twin brother?

That one on Gavi in the first half was criminal, Fred was about to put Rashford through.

Fantastic performance. Great assist and won the ball high up just before the corner. Dominated De Jong.

I don't think people realise it will be much harder to find a better midfielder than they believe. Most midfielders are not the absolute top echelon; in fact, very few are at that level.

Also, that was never a penalty. The ball was played from far too close.
This. I hope Fred stays, even if his role is reduced to minimum, we will still need him every now and then. He was a decent but for what we're getting over the years.

Gavi is just his carbon copy
He really is made for games like this.

Frederick the Great strikes once again. No, he won't go down as a Brazil or United legend, but when he's on his game he's ridiculously hard for opposition midfielders to cope with.

I’d have hooked him at half time he was a one man disaster zone
And then…
Amazing second half and barely gave the ball away.
Cannot predict what is going to happen with him. And we think Nunez is “chaos”……….
