That’s like 200 minutes of football, I am being pretty objective. He is getting much more leeway than most players tonight.

Probably because he played 8 minutes during which the main criticism seems to be he allegedly ducked a header in midfield which only is being raised as Olise scored a worldie.

No idea if he played great, but nothing he did was very noteworthy, good or bad.

Yeah we understand that the 8 minutes of Fred did not draw tonight’s game. Can you also try and explain this to the “McT is to blame” mob in the other thread that Olise’s goal was pretty damn good strike.

We didn't draw because of McTominay but he was awful tonight. You'd hope for a lot more than what he provided both in and out of possession in the last 22 minutes.

In reality we drew because we consistently made poor choices in promising positions at the top end of the pitch. That's more on Rashford and Bruno than anybody else imo.

Well he did provide the fury that's going on in the post match and VAR threads

Their free kick they scored came from Fred ducking underneath another aerial challenge , did it a good few times late on against city too putting us under unnecessary pressure.
Wish he'd get outed more for this. Fred is so cowardly in addition to his dog shit ability. Fred will never put his pathetic wee body on the line in a good fair tackle. Complete opposite to what a Manchester United midfielder is supposed to be. Fans say Always gives 100%....First man in when there is handbags...but he only does it when it's safe. Absolutely can't wait to see the back of him. Arm waving wanker

Overall he did quite when he played the last few games, he can be useful when played alongside good midfielders. With Casemiro out and Eriksen having only power for 60 minutes maximum in this kindling games we might see McFred in the second half, a bit frightening.

Honestly, what's with the aggression? There's only one person coming off as a wanker here and it ain't Fred.

I'm not sure about that. He gave Palace a dangerous counter by fumbling the ball with an extremely heavy touch.

Cowardly ffs. Grow a brain. He wasn’t ducking out of a challenge. He was never going to win a header against a much taller player so he tried to back into them and win the ball after it dropped over their head. It’s a basic defensive skill. Martinez does this all the time. Is he cowardly?

Trying to stop an opposition attack. Unlike Scott McFeckingTominay, who was watching the opposition attack.
He tried? No he fecking ducked under the opposition player, then proceeded to make a mess out of it.

You bet your arse if that aerial ball came in McT's space he would have cleared first time, thanks for pointing out the obvious.

I’m glad you realise that McTominay is taller than Fred. You observational skills aren’t as quite as shit as they seem. Have a read of my previous post if you want to learn a little bit more. Every day’s a school day.

A "much taller" player Jeffrey fecking Schlupp of 178cm

Unlike yours by the looks of it.

Can anyone of his excusers please explain to me what in the name of God was Fred doing here?

5ft 7 Fred, isn't outjumping 5ft 10 Schlupp in a standing jump for a header...

He's tried to make it harder by applying pressure to Schlupp by leaning in and made the (fair) decision to see if he can control then try to nick it if he manages. I mean, it's unbelievably harsh to criticize Fred on this one.

The thing is, whatever he was planning to do, he failed. He did not contest the jump even though 9cm of height difference is not as much as some try to claim on here. He tried some pathetic body push and let the ball bounce and created a dangerous situation which you describe as "fair decision"? It was as stupid as it gets and it's not something uncommon from him. It's not unbelievably harsh to say it was a stupid play when you have a poster who just mentioned McT in the context of "at least he tried, unlike McT".

Step aside pal, you're no longer the least rational Fred hater.

Oh thanks for the lesson...and how did this basic defensive skill work out for him? Anyway,
Yes i do think Fred is a coward. In terms of physicality and mentality for receiving a ball from defence. All arms in 20 yards of space but if even a shadow is near him there's no demanding the ball.

Tomorrow could suit him lots of running around harrying. He’s probably the most divisive player I’ve seen among his own fans, almost like American politics the way people take extreme views on him. Against better teams he’s very effective at breaking up play, but when we play a weaker team and want more control he is always liable to make a mistake. I don’t think he’s good enough for where we want to be but an ok squad player that can do an important job in big games.

He's a player that can be very active in the squad but shouldn't start every game.

Need big game Fred to turn up tomorrow , he is an enigma , looks so average some of the time and just when you are giving up on him he gives a world class display usually in a big game against a big team. We need that Fred to turn up tomorrow.

Was class against City but he had Casa with him whereas today is a very different situation

Do one will you, who the hell are you and what have you done to sit behind a device and call someone a coward

A player is fair game if you are not happy with their performance but what's with the attacks and name calling?

A lot of talk about him starting and begging him to be brought on and lots posting in the Eriksen McTom threads after the match yet Fred came on at 71 mins and didn't help at all. I was one thinking he'd be better to bring on as well.

Possession was also about 50/50 before he came on, we then concede more of the ball and have to suffer 8 shots on goal. I will add ETH should be keeping our attacking shape though, subbing a wide player again for a mid and we end up under more pressure like at Palace but a fresh Fred if so good should be helping out our midfield to some degree.

Too many bad games for McTom and Fred, the game has to suit their specific limitations and little qualities they have otherwise they're just passengers for most of it.

He will be living on the back of that City game involvement for another 3 months now.

I think we would be a better team with his energy in midfield.

We need a box-to-box midfielder with Fred's energy who can actually pass consistently well. Our scouts should be trying to identify the next Leon Gortezka and go and get that guy.

Although, in fairness to Fred, he actually played some ambitious passes tonight. Not so much of a crab.

He's had some really good cameos as a sub under Eth
Remember there were times he would come on previously and really struggle to get into the game

I'd definitely go for Goretzka or someone like him.
I think replacing Eriksen with Fred we have less passing ability BUT more turnovers and openings from midfield. Eriksen is fantastic on the ball but we have so many good players around midfield that I think we can live with Fred.
ETH doesn't seem to fancy him though.
