Well if Pete says it then it must be true
It was aye, hours before everyone else.
Well if Pete says it then it must be true
Arteta had 3 years as Pep's right hand man and Vieira still had a couple of seasons in France and he's hardly doing much exciting at Palace is he? There will always be talented managers that hit the ground running but loads of them just end up "failures" before they even get started.
Lampard should have stuck at Derby for a few years instead of falling for the Chelsea love story, now he's a busted flush.
I feel like Coady could talk himself into a player manager gig
I swear back when he was either in the latter Derby days or early Chelsea days, there was a theory going around that Jody Morris was the real coaching talent of the duo of Lampard and Morris.
And Jody Morris isn’t at Everton and Lampard‘s doing much worse than the end of his Chelsea stint.
That's the reason I think Xabi Alonso may have good potential to be a very good coach. He was coached by Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti, and Benitez. He is the manager of Bayer Leverkusen at the moment. This is a superb point, IMO. Neville and Scholes are the same at times with their viewpoints. (For example, both believe United is not a ‘possession-based club’ and should have wingers spamming the box with crosses for 90 minutes every week. )
These one-club guys think everything should be exactly how they experienced things for time immemorial. Mental, really.
Had to happen but we have made the same mistake as last window. Give the new manager barely any time to bring in players.
He's made poor decisions in terms of clubs to work for thus far in his managerial career. I do think he's a good manager but you need to find the right fit. I sincerely hope he can get another PL job.
Same with potter at Chelsea.
He's a richer "busted flush" and if history is any indicator, he's a desperate chairman away from another managerial role in the Championship or the PL.
Staying at Derby for a few years wouldn't have guaranteed anything. This isn't Football Manager... When the top dogs call, you accept, try your best, get sacked and figure things out later.
By this logic Arteta should have gone down into the Championship to "hone his craft" first.
Player management Lampard can get more experience while stay with Derby, but I don't think that is his issue. Just look at Uni Emery's impact for Aston Villa, it probably makes more sense for EPL clubs to hire a proven top manager from else where. But he's Frank Lampard, he hardly needed the money did he, he could have learnt a thing or two at Derby and still had a chance at the Chelsea merry go round in a couple of years on name factor alone.
Well it does mean something given that there's clearly so many managers getting jobs based on their playing career.Doesn't mean much, the amount of brilliant players isn't that much to begin with, compared with the population of people that have an interest in football but couldn't make it as players.
I'm not saying all paths to big clubs are the same, there isn't some rite of passage where the rules are you have to play Forest Green away for a few seasons before you are allowed a shot.

Come home Mikel Arteta
you mean Barcelona?Come home Mikel Arteta
you mean Barcelona?
They’re not signing anyone. That’s the problem with them.About time, should have gotten rid of him pre World Cup, instead they've given a new Manager only a few days remaining in the transfer market. Inspired stuff Everton.
Yep, their in some mad rush to manage a PL team without the experience to even manage a piss upShould've stayed at Derby. Too many managers want to gamble on the PL early on, especially because they know their name will get them the job.
The miracle was probably confirming our safety the game before the last day.Should've been gone in the summer. He kept them up on the last day by some miracle.
