He's a richer "busted flush" and if history is any indicator, he's a desperate chairman away from another managerial role in the Championship or the PL.

Staying at Derby for a few years wouldn't have guaranteed anything. This isn't Football Manager... When the top dogs call, you accept, try your best, get sacked and figure things out later.

By this logic Arteta should have gone down into the Championship to "hone his craft" first.

If that's the case, someone would have snapped him up just like Gerrard's assistant (who had the same rumours about him) had been snapped him almost immediately and is now back managing the same club he was the assistant to Gerrard at just a year earlier. Jody Morris has been a coach a various levels for many years now, and he's by all accounts a good one but don't think he's ever even been linked with any jobs in the top 2 divisions.

That's the reason I think Xabi Alonso may have good potential to be a very good coach. He was coached by Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti, and Benitez. He is the manager of Bayer Leverkusen at the moment.

Don't know what is crazier - the fact it took so long to sack him or the fact he'll probably be in another Premier League gig by the start of next season.
 
He's made poor decisions in terms of clubs to work for thus far in his managerial career. I do think he's a good manager but you need to find the right fit. I sincerely hope he can get another PL job.

Same with potter at Chelsea.

This has nothing to do with us man. No reason for us to be catching stray bullets like this. This is Everton's mess.
 
Should've stayed at Derby. Too many managers want to gamble on the PL early on, especially because they know their name will get them the job.

I'm not saying all paths to big clubs are the same, there isn't some rite of passage where the rules are you have to play Forest Green away for a few seasons before you are allowed a shot.

But he's Frank Lampard, he hardly needed the money did he, he could have learnt a thing or two at Derby and still had a chance at the Chelsea merry go round in a couple of years on name factor alone.

Player management Lampard can get more experience while stay with Derby, but I don't think that is his issue. Just look at Uni Emery's impact for Aston Villa, it probably makes more sense for EPL clubs to hire a proven top manager from else where.

They still adore him at Chelsea. He could get a job elsewhere, do well, and be in contention for the Chelsea job down the line.

So many is a stretch. Looking at the top 6 in England, only Guardiola and Conte would qualify as top players. Vieira if you go down further.

They’re not signing anyone. That’s the problem with them.
 
They should just got for bielsa. His attacking style of play could keep them in the prem or he could be to open and they get relegated but then he’ll probably go straight back up with them anyway. They’re probably gonna go for someone like dyche though and play it safe but that can’t be a long term appointment surely.
 
He should have gone weeks ago, I think the owners were holding out hoping things would improve so they could avoid a big pay out for him and his staff.

Get Bielsa in, he'll sort that mess out.
 
Should've been gone in the summer. He kept them up on the last day by some miracle.
 
Won’t get a PL job anytime soon he needs to rebuild his career.

Been handed 2 big jobs that he wasn’t qualified to do

Look at someone a similar age in Scott Parker and he’s got 2 clubs promoted and is a much better manager
