The Barca played I would have wanted is Nico. He went on loan so probably he didn't want to leave and they didn't want to sell permanently, but they need money and he's got good size and feet. Carries the ball well.
Why would Kessie be free? They’re technically signed to Barcelona and not free agents.

Kessie is not fantastic at anything but a good allround midfielder. Would be surprised if he wasn`t instant upgrade on both Fred and Mctominay. Only 25 as well. Makes an awful lot of sense on a free.
Kessie certainly wouldn't be our poster boy for commercial purposes.
I don't really see the fuss with him, he's better than what we have though, but I also see Barca working out a way to keep him.
Their contracts are void if they aren’t registered before Sunday. Which is unlikely because they need to find a way to register Lewandowski, Raphinha etc that they spent lots of cash on. The freebies will be the last priority
