Well they certainly have an affect, that can't be doubted. In two months the games have amassed over 20,000 posts. The views are in the several hundreds of thousands. It's not about specific posters either, but the simple fact is there would be more activity on the General, if the games weren't as frequent as they are. Reducing the frequency of games shouldn't have a massive effect on posters anyway, and I'd imagine would make the games a little more competitive and interesting.
It's not down to any one factor that the general is suffering, and definitely not just down to this, but certainly many things can contribute to it staying in decline. The werewolf games are a part of that, and if it means that staggering them might bring about more activity in the forum, then why not do that. We can gauge the difference in activity shortly when the next game is postponed for a further date.
Also putting them in a sub-forum is completely missing the point.
