Former United Coach Benni McCarthy Slams Players: "Bruno and Dalot gave everything they had in training. Some of the others didn't do the same."

The quote isn't talked about more because there is nothing to say about it. Every single club has some players that don't train particularly well, out of 30 something players it's perfectly normal. In reality this quote is more damning for Benni because he knows it, he has been a professional player for a long time, he is running his mouth to be relevant while saying nothing but that nothing is going to get some attention on social media.

If I was a DOF that would be enough to never consider him as a staff member because he clearly is a shit stirrer.
This!

Can we? Or are people going to imagine different players and get mad at their preferred scapegoat for being lazy?

Maybe identify the right coach to direct it at first? Dude has also only been here two months, so even if you hadn't targeted the wrong coach, he's new at the club and also working under a manager who's been serving up shite for a year-and-a-half.
I mean you can beat around the bush as much as you want mate but I think you could give a good guess who he’s on about. High profile players that could’ve been great if they gave a shite. Who else do you think he’s talking about? fecking Tom Heaton?

Wow the responses to this on here are damning itself.

Public enemies Bruno and Dalot can’t surely be good professionals, the foaming mob cry.

Could never imagine those two not giving their all in training. Bruno might be badly out of form but both of them always give their all in games. Think a lot of Bruno's issues are down to him knowing he is not in form and showing his frustration because of it.

I think he also mentioned that ETH lack of communication skills was a problem ? Or did I imagine that ?
One can imagine anything bad about ETHs management and it’s probably going to be true

No it's definitely more damning for the players who don't train well then don't show up in match day either.

Let's say, my own experience and the experience of professional athletes I grew up with including some that played for France at youth and senior level in Football, Basketball, Handball and Rugby.

Both sides of the spectrum are common, every athletes will be able to give you a list of teammates that aren't particularly engaged during practice but somehow perform very well during games and athletes that are very good in practice but subpar during actual games/competitions.
Can’t say fairer than that, interesting though.

Yes and without the focused practice before it they have no chance.

First of all I am not justifying slackers. I am simply saying that not every person is built the same. There are those who work hard all year and would do everything in their power to beat a deadline while there are others who will rise to the occasion when needed to. I am not a sports person but I noticed that while studying and while working (I'm being of the former type). There had been many examples of the latter in football who carved a very successful career for themselves. Pally, Choccy, Tevez, Hazard...the list goes on and on.

The secret to success is intelligence. A player need to know himself extremely well and adapt to his circumstances. For example a player who works himself to the ground during training to a point that he's constantly injured because of it is as useless as a slacker. Football intelligence is key even for clubs. For example someone like Ronaldo who lived for football and always took care of his body is more likely to get a long term contract once he hit 30 then someone like Rooney.

Mention names. Tired of this shit.
Or coaches call the players out in front of the others to make them aware of their shortcomings. Might shame them into training harder, or go crying to their agent.

What’s the point of giving it all in training when those 2 don’t do shit on match day?
