I am most pleased for Mr Forlan. May his good form translate to the Premiership soon.

The fourth united goal was scored by Kieran Richardson. He picked it up just inside the Blackburn half went past one player took it a further 10 yards then hit an unstoppable shot from fully 30 yards into the top corner. I do not hesitate to say it was a better strike than Scholes' on Monday.
Of the game overall, Richardson did play well in central midfield, a role the coaches appear to be trying him. Fortune was my MOTM, involved with everything and looked a class above everyone else on the pitch.
Forlan obviously did well, his first was a cracking goal, his second was sort of wierd as it appeared a little soft, although he took it well. His third was well taken after he intercepted a poor backpass and then took it past the keeper to score. His third was the original 'my gran could of scored goal' - a completely open goal two yards out!.
PNev continued to impress in Centre Mid - he too looked far superior to most players - a point he clearly realised too by some of his showboating!.
Paul Tierney, the young full-back looked excellent - a real prospect. He impress both with his defending and especially his attacking. He also looked very quick and looks to have grown since last season, in the same way JOS has.
Ricardo made some good saves although his distribution was poor at times.
Still not a big fan of Alan Tate. He gets his tackles and headers in, but I don't think he reads the game that well and played Blackburn on side more than once.</strong><hr></blockquote>
I saw the replay of Richardson's goal later, and it was better than Scholes's (which Forlan's first was similar to), but it was further out than 30 yards, more like 40!
Agree with your assessments of the players though, apart from making Fortune MOM, I think 4 goals earns you that right.
Alan Tate isn't a reader of the game in the way Blanc and O'Shea are, but he's a great tackler and header and a good defender in his own right - better than May imo.
Tierney was impressive, didn't realise how quick he was either, I can see why he's pushing for a place on the bench and as cover now.
I don't like the experiment of playing Richardson in midfield, I want to see him as a winger myself, I don't see him being suited to CM as his size, and lack of tackling ability let him down there, and certainly would in the PL. I think its more to do with giving Fortune some games.

Its easy to see why Tierney is so highly rated.
He is quick, has a good build, reads the game well, rarely gets beaten and is a good crosser of the ball. He has also played many games for the reserves at centre back.
I think he is better than a lot of PL full-backs. However, he just needs that chance in the first team. It would not surprise me to see him in the Worthless cup.
Even if he does not make the breakthrough into the first team, we could probably sell him for a few million like we did with Danny Higginbottom.
