For those of you who want Fergie out...

The names that were being thrown around last year would probably be at the top of the plc's list again...such as Hitzfeld and Sven.

Hitzfeld has recently stated that he wants to stay at Bayern Munich until the end of his contract which runs out in 2004. He seems to be the kind of man who says what he means. From some reports, it sounds like he's already passed on the job once.

How many of you would prefer Sven to Fergie? Personally, I think Sven's overly cautious and isn't strong enough tactically. I don't think he'd do a terrible job for us but I can't see him inspiring a team to great heights either.

I think McClaren's done a great job over at Middlesbrough. Although it's still early days for him, I think he could be a great choice for us one day. But I don't think there's any way the plc would take a chance on someone unproven like him. Remember their rigid criteria last year...had to have won trophies at the highest level, etc.

PLC's are conservative. They go for what they think is the safe and proven option. At minimum, they want to be able to justify their choice if it all goes pear-shaped. I don't think they're going to take a leap into the dark and take a chance on someone unproven like McClaren.

Which leaves me with the question..who do you think the PLC would choose that would do a better job than Fergie?</strong><hr></blockquote>

Sven is fecking useless Martin O Neill would be a good manager at Utd in my opinion.

I also think the following players should be sold The Nevilles maybe Gary can sit on the bench,
Veron, Giggs and Beckham blanc should be dropped for the rest of the season tool old and slow.

We should buy Carr/Finnan, Duff, A world class striker, Kewell maybe this would put the hunger back into the side.

Just one problem. If Fergie went along with your proposal he might have difficulty making up the numbers due to Keane,Butt & co being out and the transfer window open only in January. Also unless and if someone like Veron is sold there will be limited funds available for new players.

McCLaren is one of the reasons we won the treble and it is no coincidence that since he has left we have become a shadow of that treble winning side. It is no wonder that SAF wanted him to be his replacement and the board should have taken that advice.

Christ, who let this guy in?

By Sven, you mean the Italian Championship winner and world cup quarter finalist? Who has only lost one or two games since becoming United manager?

He's proven quality, he'd be a good manager for United.

If you drop Becks and Giggs, who plays on the wings?

And you want to buy Kewell, a man who's even less consistent than Veron?

No, I afraid he will recall Greening to play as our RW if he becomes our manager. :D

That would have taken tremendous foresight particularly having said, not unreasonably, that they wanted an experienced manager with a proven track record of success. I still think those parameters are in place and will therefore preclude McClaren,Moyes and even maybe O'Neill (only Scottish titles so far) at the end of this season. It might be a different story by the time Fergie is due to go in two seasons time but will he last that long ?

No he wouldn't.</strong><hr></blockquote>

i agree.

from what i've seen he's too defensive, i've not been impressed with his england team at all.

I think MacLaren, Moyes, O' Neil...and Hitzfeld are best bets...

Poor wind up. Not even funny.
