Football Re-brands

Spurs can make it as simple as they like. But it's still cock on top of ball. Nothing can ever change that.

Not really a football club, but the AFC (Asian UEFA) has rebranded. Didn't find a lot of assets nor the new brand manual, but their website is updated with the new brand.
There's a reveal viden and some text here.

They've also recently done some rebranding work for their competitions visually, have new competition formats for their continental competitions this season, and also changed squad registration rules etc.

If the new logo is the one on the right, then it seems a bit generic to me.

Might as well be a logo for a flight company. At least put a reference to football or asia in there imo. All nice with the font but tell the story or give a subtle sign of what it’s about.

"Taking inspiration from Chile’s beautiful tapestries and spectacular landscapes [...] The emblem weaves together the jagged silhouette of the majestic Andes mountain range with Chile’s national flower, the copihue (Chilean bellflower), while a football is perched at the summit and the podium-style base illustrates the ambition and pride at the heart of the event.

"The vivid colours of the emblem and the broader FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025 brand depict various elements that are deeply rooted in the fabric of the host nation. These include the bold red proudly sported by Chile players and fans alike, the light blue of the Pacific coastline, the dark pink of flamingos and the orange of the vast Atacama Desert."

I think that looks brilliant.

Didnt' like it when I saw the first logo comparisons, but seeing the application photos, I quite like it.

Tottenham Hotspurs rebrand
So, the short and sweet of it, is that they've simplified the logo by removing the words. It's a good move if you want to use it in a more versatile way, i.e. clothing. They've also added hallmarks (not sure how they're planning on using these) and a monogram. Honestly, I love monograms, but I think Spurs' one is a bit meh.

I don't even know. Trying to show the versatility of the new icon.

In recent news related to their re-brand (posted on the first page), Tottenham Hotspur have requested not to be named Tottenham on Premier League broadcasts.

“Tottenham Hotspur have provided clarification regarding the club’s name. They have requested that the club are primarily known as Tottenham Hotspur, with Spurs being the preferred short version. The club have requested that they are not referred to as Tottenham.”

[...]

"What specifically changed is that in November last year, the club unveiled a “remastered brand identity”, which was “rolled out across all the Club’s physical and digital touchpoints”. This came with a “Brand Playbook”, which explains in comprehensive detail what the new brand identity means. Towards the end of a section titled “Tone of voice” (“Defiant, Authentic, Rallying, Energetic”), there is a paragraph that makes very clear how the club wants to be described."

"“In a world full of Uniteds, Citys and Rovers, there is only one Hotspur, Tottenham Hotspur. When referring to the team or the brand, please use ‘Tottenham Hotspur’, ‘Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’ or ‘THFC’. Never refer to our Club as ‘Tottenham’, ‘Tottenham Hotspur FC’ or ‘TH’.”"

I’ve always called them Spurs anyway.

Are we allowed to call them Totting-Ham as Ossie Ardiles called them?

I know everyone here has been foaming at the mouth waiting for the Uruguayan League's re-brand, and finally here it is:

I like the old logo a lot more. Also it's weird that the long name for the league now would be 'Uruguayan League of the Uruguayan Football Associacion'.

I assume the one on the left is the old one? Yes, I‘d prefer that one too. We often are against change, since we are used to something or because it holds a sentimental value, but in this case neither of that is true for me.

Yes, old on the left, new on the right. Same for me, no sentimental value, even if I've seen the old logo several times.
I tried to have a look at what Uruguayans were saying about it, but most comments were about the format, and a lot of comments referenced a recent attempt at a breakaway league that won the votes to be organized, but was one short of it going through. From the comments about the logo I didn't see many positive comments, but seemed like the old logo was not popular either.

I always called them Spurs but going forward will exclusively refer to them as Tottenham. Jumped up ghouls.
