They're looking to make the step up to arena shows and there's only one in Ireland that fits the bill unfortunately. Maybe the Odyssey in Belfast too.

Grian said that the album was inspired by being on tour with Arctic Monkeys in massive arenas and seeing Blur at Wembley and the tunes have almost been written to fill those kind of venues so I understand why they're doing it. You might see them doing some smaller Irish shows after this initial tour but there's a good chance they've outgrown everything outside of 3Arena and multiple smaller dates aren't financially viable anymore.

That's what I was getting at. They should have done a night in the Odyssey for us Northerners. Crazy they played a local theatre here not too long ago with Wunderhorse.

Hopefully I get a ticket for Dublin tomorrow.

This last single was a big step up for me compraed to their previous stuff. Much more interesting musical direction, and the delivery of the singer worked much better for me here (not as monotone as in a lot of their other stuff).

Yeah that one might grow on me. Their older stuff I couldn't really get into. A bit monotonous I agree but I do like other bands where the singer has a similar delivery.

Album is so good. Best band in the world right now in my opinion. Bought tickets for their Finsbury Park gig next year. Seeing them in December here. They're so good.

Never been a massive fan, but this is definitely their best album.

Bit of a disappointment on first listen, not a patch on the dynamics of Skinty Fia. Feels lightweight, especially with the 36 minute runtime. Didn't they say something about making an arena-worthy album after touring with Blur? This definitely ain't it.

Waiting for the vinyl to arrive tomorrow before listening.

The album is fantastic.

I can't say if it's better than Skinny Fia which is an album I absolutely loved.

Interesting, as I think the thing they do much better on this record is dynamics (Skinty Fia had much less variety both in and between songs). I think the musical direction also is more interesting. I enjoyed this record quite a bit, and I think a that it has their best ever songs on it. The only downside as an album release is that they already released the best two songs as singles.

Saw them at Pukkelpop a week ago and loved the performance; they'll be headlining / closing the bigger festivals rather sooner than later.
