He is, fine player. Best all rounder in the world today, but that doesnt say alot, considering the state of cricket in the last two years. IMO hes a fine player.. but very overrated. I noticed from one of Amol's (actually it could have been one of the other Indian lads) posts using his career averages as a basis to slag him. Conveniantly ignoring his output in the last couple of years...
Flitnoff's been best all rounder in past 2 years or so, hard to argue really, I considered Cairns amd kallis better than him, both havent done much recently, also kallis bowling is getting poorer.

MR, if we take the best years of Sachins career his averages would be incredible. He scored his first ODI hundred very late(after 70 odd tests). Ganguly once averaged in the 50s in test cricket and at one point was taking wickets for fun as well. This wasnt the point of this thread , we all agree hes a fantastic player, some think higher of him and some lower. Thats natural.

I remember when Ganguly averaged in the 50s, we weren't involved in international cricket then and adopted him as the Bengali representative. Was superb to watch in those days too.
Anyway those stats aren't relevant now because they were years ago, while Flintoff's are.
