Last year we had the best defensive record in England. Our back four is young and will get better.

On the subject of Beckham: He is a very good player but Fergie didn't start him in our two most important games (Real at home, Arsenal away). The price we got was good value for a bench player.

As for the circus, I think most of us would have PAID 25 million to get rid of it. We now have players who will concentrate on football rather than media opportunities.

Just some italian club on the brink of bankruptcy. I supposed we would never get our money back, taught us never to deal with thieving romans back in italy.
